Hello! I am somewhat of a new player to D&D. I have played a partial campaign a few years ago but the DM went MIA :( There is actually a few of us who would like to start a campaign (they are new as well) so a GM looking to start out with some new folk could be a great match up. I also dont mind joining a new campaign without the others though- just thought id throw that in there in case someone was looking to bring on 2-3 others.
In person or online is fine. I live in western NY- in between buffalo and Niagara Falls, young adult at heart but im 38 lol
Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online / Face-to-face / either Experience: New Location/Timezone: WNY time zone:EST Availability: Most afternoons after 5pm and flexible on weekends but prefer afternoons/evenings. Preferred role: Player Game style: I am open to whatever game style as long as it is new player friendly.-not willing to pay for a gm-sorry
In the same boat as you. I would love to jump in to a group to play a campaign or even single module.... yep, already gave away a hint at my age. Have been playing AD&D for some time now. Have a group of Friends that started about 5 years ago and we have been going through Keep on the Borderlands, Lost Caves, Castle Amber, and against the Giants in a campaign format. The group has fizzled out but my itch to play again has increased. I do know 5e rules (thanks C.R.) and have messed around with classes and builds on my own. Unfortunately, I do not feel confident enough to D.M. a game till I have had a few real games under my belt. I personally would prefer to play face to face with people for a few reasons. One; it helps build a group dynamic. Two; it the best check and balance on not only game play but finding out what is exceptible with in a group. Im getting up in age but I am not oblivious to the setting tolerance levels and need to have a fun and comfortable game. Example; a bunch of 50+ old guys who played Football, ex military, married with Kids are not going to be talking the same way when their wives walk into the room. That's just the way it is. Can those same guys be friendly, kind, excepting and accommodating to someone who considers themselves "different"? the answer is a resounding yes. ((Not a fan of labels, every person on the planet is different and we all have different temperaments, talents, and convictions. That is what makes each of us so special and wonderful. .... sorry for the rant but wanted to try and be clear on who I am and how i feel. My "example" group was a second hint)) D&D was a game for nerds and in its true form and in the honored traditions of Lamda, Lamda, Lamda its a game for everyone.... even an Ogre like me. (see Revenges of Nerds part 2)
If you would not mind me tagging along on your quest to find a game/group/store/exc ; I would greatly appreciate.
Oh my gosh! I just wanted to come on here and comment that I'm actually from the Buffalo NY area. I lived in North Tonawanda up until the last year. I am so SAD that I got into D&D so late because I had quite the friends in Buffalo that were into it. I currently live in FL now :c But I can ask around my old friends see if they still do D&D for you, in person or online.

Hi,
I'm south of Rochester, NY and a newbie. If you do an online group, I'd be interested in joining.
