Introduction & Setting: Our loss is your gain! We've lost a couple players to RL time and personal issues and are looking for a couple new players for our homebrew epic fantasy storyline campaign. The world setting is based on a post-post-apocalyptic event where 2/3 of the world's population was eradicated and was forced to recede into whatever hiding places they could find. Fast forward 800 years, the world has healed itself enough that civilization can begin again. During that time, new races have evolved and magic has recently blossomed into the world (within the past 200 years). Now, a new challenge faces the world, the banished god of Death, Murder, and Deceit is rallying his fiend legions and is attempting to break from his god-imposed prison to claim the lands of man as his own. Only the PC's have the knowledge and the destiny to prevent this from happening.
Group Dynamic: I am the DM, and have been playing D&D since the early 90's (yeah, I'm that old). I took about a 20-year hiatus but returned to 5e about 6 years ago, first as a player, and within the past couple of years, as a returning DM. The party started at level 1, a little over 2 years ago, and has just reached 10th level. As stated above, magic is "relatively" new to the world and still carries social stigmas with magic items being a little rarer than in a normal D&D campaign. I allow any race from the core sourcebooks, but anything outside the PHB is considered an "odd" race and may carry some social prejudices during gameplay.
Current Storyline: The party has traveled together for the past several months (2 years IRL) and has learned that the Brotherhood of Tears, the cult following of the imprisoned God of Death, Murder, and Deceit is gathering the lost Heartstones to form the key necessary to release the god from his imprisonment. The Heartstones are the shattered hearts of six elder dragons who sacrificed themselves to create the veil that the evil god is now trapped behind. Having recently earned the respect of the Emporer for their heroism in thwarting a potential war with the elven nation, the party has already located one of the lost keys and is poised to begin the search for the other keys to prevent the Brotherhood from completing their mission.
As stated above, we'll take any experience level of D&D gamer, however, we are a RP-heavy group and want to find some like minded players to add to the group. We ask that you come to the game with creativity and enthusiasm, and let the rolls fall as they may.
