Consequences Be Damned: Homebrew Players: Needed

Game: D&D 5e High Fantasy 
Group type: Online, using discord and roll 20.  Mic needed and Webcam preferred
Experience: 7 years
Gametime/Timezone: Gametime 8:10-10:30 or 11:00 pm EST on Thursdays 

Roles sought: (4-5 players: 18+ years old)  

Game style: The game will be very balanced with roleplay and combat about 60/40 if I had to put a number on it. Player backstory and personality will be important as I incorporate this into my sessions as much as possible to provide an immersive experience for all. Player decisions will directly impact the world they live in, choices are meaningful. 

Game Description:  

Sorcerers a decade ago used magic to create mountain barriers between Osebus and the rest of the world. Osebus was a beautiful and highly desirable land which led to constant attacks from monsters and military that lived in the western world. Wizards begged and pleaded with the sorcerers to not do this and warned that there would certainly be dire consequences for such massive impact on the environment and world, but the Sorcerers could not be reasoned with and did as they pleased. Creating the mountains and ending the constant attacks that came from the monsters of the west. In Osebus these men and women are highly regarded as heroes and saviors to the eastern world. The wizards, however, still feel that there will be far reaching repercussions, some people just believe they are jealous of the great feat that was accomplished by the sorcerers that day.

There are now rumors of monstrosities being sighted throughout the land and spontaneous out of season weather. Have the great mountains only trapped Osebus with the monsters they so desperately wanted protection from, can our heroes once again save the people from impending doom?

Hello! I'm 27 and have access to a mic, but not a webcam unfortunately. I'm on Eastern Standard  Time, also.

In terms of experience, I've been playing for about a year with some culminative experience over the course of two short campaigns and a West Marches server I was in a while ago. I understand the basics of 5e, but I'm admittedly still learning. I do have experience with tabletops and roleplay in general however with about 7-9 years worth on the former and 13 on the latter. I've played Pathfinder 1e, Shadowrun, Part Time Gods, and Pokemon Tabletop United.
