Hi! My dad (who is in his 50s) has been looking to get back into D&D for a while now. I also play, and have been trying to find him a campaign, but it's hard to find groups that don't just do one shots and/or who cater to older adults. Does anyone know of campaigns in the Boston area that are looking for players? Or people that are looking to start campaigns, or places to find campaigns? Preferably more traditional-style (not as in 1e, but as in all characters starting at level 1, probably more combat-based), but anything would be awesome! Thanks so much!
My wife and I, who are in our 50's, host a group of gamers of varying ages (2 in their late 20's early 30's and one late teen). We are located in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada in the Eastern Time Zone so your dad could play via Discord. We are currently playing a 5e game with 13th level characters. This is a continuing campaign that my wife, myself and one of the other members of the group started at level 1 and we have played them up to 13th. The 2 new players made 13th level characters then were introduced into the current adventure.
We are a very laid back group with a mix of playing styles and experience levels so we will work with what your dad has to offer.
Character creation is initially done in D&D Beyond but we are using a software called Fantasy Grounds (FGU) as the VTT. Once you create a character the GM will take it and convert it to a Fantasy Grounds character. If you don't already have a license for FGU you can go and download the demo version at this link https://www.fantasygrounds.com/. The GM has an Ultimate subscription so you don't have to pay for an FGU license.
If your dad is interested let me know and I'll let him know the next steps.
Regards,
SneedRajek
PS. I forgot to say that our group meets every other Saturday at 2pm til 7pm on Saturdays.
