LOOKING FOR DM

Looking for Teen and Beginner Friendly DM to Run Our Game

Nice to meet you! We are a group of six teenagers looking to play the Curse of Strahd module. We formed this group roughly three weeks ago with another DM, but they ghosted all six of us for two weeks straight due to strange circumstances and we are still waiting to hear from them. All of us are naturally feeling quite let down, as we were extremely excited! We had just completed session zero before never hearing from our DM again.  

All six characters are rolled and ready to go. We’d like to start at level 3 and go by milestone instead of xp. Here is our lineup:

-Sea Elf Bard

-Deep Gnome Rogue

-Satyr Barbarian

-Dhampir Wizard

-Tiefling Warlock (may change at some point)

-Astral Elf Cleric

When do we want our sessions?

We are a busy group of full-time students with various responsibilities such as after-school clubs and jobs. We’d like to have sessions on Sundays, from 6:30 PM-8:30 PM CST. For those of you in EST, that would be 7:30 PM-9:30 PM EST. This could possibly be moved to Mondays at the same time. Sundays are preferred.

Where are we playing?

We’d like to use Discord audio call. Many of us don’t know how to use Roll20, so unless you are planning on teaching at least four people how to use it, we are all fine just using our imagination for scenes and will simply ask for environmental factors (like distance away from a monster) straight from the DM.

What are we looking for in a DM?

-Fun!

-Excited about and ready to engage with long and detailed backstories (and willing to incorporate them if the player wishes). Quite a few of us have put a lot of time, care, and thought into our character backstories and don’t want it wasted.

-Appreciates art drawn of characters; we have lots of artists!

-Accepts some non-canon designs of the races.  

-Willing to work with new players. This will be the very first campaign for at least three players. We’d like to go for the approach of, “No question is a stupid question.” We would also like for our DM to be more lenient concerning the nitty-gritty rules of the game (concerning weapon ammo, money, encumbrance, etc.). We aren’t asking you to disregard them completely, of course.

-Willing to work with teenagers and okay with what that entails.

-Willing to expand upon the module/add homebrew content, if they want to. Curse of Strahd is a great campaign, but adding further development to characters/changing endings/changing events is HEAVILY encouraged and welcomed by our players!

-Balance between roleplay and combat, but would like to lean towards roleplay

-Is usually able to respond to messages within 24 hours. We get that things pop up, but we don’t want a repeat of our last DM.

-And finally, is able to play either weekly or bi-weekly.

What are our basic rules?

-No explicit sexual themes. We want to keep it, for the most part, PG-13. We are aware that Curse of Strahd is a darker campaign with heavier themes and we are okay with that, but take care not to go overboard. Please do not go beyond the events of the module.

-Knowing the setting and general location, we are fine with Barovians being wary of our characters due to their races as nobody is playing a human (and it is okay to roleplay this!) but no racial violence or extreme racism, please

-Please be aware that our group is full of people under 18. If we find your behavior uncomfortable, we have the right to remove you as DM.

hi i have run curse of strahd 3 times and have it fully fleshed out that you can go all the way to level 20 if you desire but unfortunately i believe characters should start at level 1 and go through death house as a way to learn thier characters strengths and weaknesses (especially new players)  I can make sunday evenings work as im currently running tyranny of dragons saturdays and tomb of annihilation mondays.  One thing to consider is im 50 years old so maybe not what your looking for and i run all games on abovevtt for ease of use(free chrome extension that has everything intigrated and super easy to learn)  Give me a shout if interested here or on discord loboman40#4745
