I'm a newish 36 y/o male DM (I've run Sunless Citadel and a little RotF) and I'm trying to improve. Looking for three to four players to run Lost Mine of Phandelver with. If there is a good vibe going then I'd be happy to keep going with the full module.
I'm available on pretty much any weeknight (except for Thursdays when I'm a player in a separate campaign)
Potential red flags about my DMing
1. I'm not fantastic at descriptions of settings or people, so that's an area I'm trying to work on
2. I'm not great at doing voices - I normally just do a different (bad) accent for a different character
3. In the combat, I tend to describe things fairly violently (limbs hacked off, heads chopped down the middle like a karateka breaking a pile of bricks etc) which may turn some people off
4. I use bad language if I feel a character would use bad language
5. I'm still learning about how players abilities, spells etc work, so I may need assistance from players sometimes (eg: can you tell me is that an AOE spell or is it a targeted spell? Is that an action or a bonus action...)
I like to think I'm decent at using the mechanics of the game in combat and exploration, and stepping back and allowing the PCs to roleplay and to fill in the spaces with their characters
Because I'm still quite new to DMing, more experienced players might want to lower their expectations, but if you're willing to be patient, you're more than welcome
Well I'd prefer the evening but tbh I'd rather play with other adults. Not that I've anything against teenagers, it's mainly that in my job I teach kids so there are a lot of regulations about having out of work contact with minors and even though I doubt something like DnD sessions would be officially against any regulations, I personally wouldn't feel completely comfortable with it
Availability: Most weeknights, but just as you im unavaible on Thursdays due to another campaign.
Experience: I’ve been playing two campaigns that stretched over two years. Homebrew setting but with dnd 5e ruleset. I’ve had a blast and now that one has ended I’d love to replace that campaign with something else.
Game style: I enjoy both roleplay and combat. I just want to play dnd and have fun.
Me and a buddy would like to join what time frames you thinking? We are plenty old enough and mid experienced players both having MANAGED A GAME AND PLAYED

Hope to hear from ya!
Sounds good, I'll try to avoid using my terrible Nordic (Icewind Dale) accent

If there is still room. I have some experience, but none of the campaigns I was part of went over level 9 unfortnatly.
The only day that I can't give full ok would be Friday.
When are you planning on starting it?
I would need a day or so to read over the booklet and set out the maps etc, (for maps I use the Beyond Maps which aren't ideal but I find very user friendly) but how about aiming for Tuesday the 12th? If Tuesday suits everyone interested that is
I've played DnD before, but am a bit of a beginner. I'd love to get back into it and am looking for a group to join :)
I'm UK based and GMT weeknights work perfectly for me. I could definitely do Tuesdays, as long as it was in the evening.
As I'm relatively new to DnD I won't mind at all if you're still learning the ropes of DM-ing.
Please let me know if I can join :)
Sure thing!
I haven't used discord in a while so I'll figure out what my old log in details and stuff are and send them to the people in this thread. I'll also share an invite link for a DND campaign tomorrow
Unfortunately though for everyone else, I think 6 players is plenty as combat will be slowed down if we have too many people, so we'll have to draw the line here.
