Experience: no experience required, i've been a DM for 7 Years.
Location/Timezone: CST
Schedule: Sunday nights starting from 6:30 pm CST till late (11-1)
Roles sought: Im currently looking for one or more players, no experience required as long as your willing to learn. murder hobos, overly anime players, transphobes, homophobes, or general @$$holes need not reply.
Game style: This game is Homebrew, all the way from the story, to some mechanics, enemies, and classes. we have mystery, action, 75% Roleplay - 25% combat, and lots of lore.
Game Intro: In the land of Sylvania, there are three capitals. To the north lies Borialis, a city of men (humans). To the west, past the great jungle, is Faren-dis, the mountain city of the dwarves (whom of which do not trust outsiders and favors tradition over coexisting with the other races.). To the east, hidden in the dark forest is Celest, the shimmering city of the elves, and the great library. And finally to the south, the coastal town of Blackwater. The hub of all trade between the three cities is Gatlaston. A quiet peaceful town suited for beginning adventurers, and where our tale wound normally begin….but, not this time. Outside of Sylvania, many other countries live in peace with one another, or simply close themselves off to only themselves and simply watch the outside world....but how long will this peace last? A storm is brewing in the land...strange winds blowing telling of a coming conflict...but with who or what is unknown
Sounds interesting. I don't have any actual play experience, but I have watched enough actual play stuff to get familiar with the 5e rules, and I have a copy of the PHB (but without a group I haven't invested in additional source books.) 5:30 EST to midnight EST sounds okay.
Characters I have plans and some backstory for are:
a Dwarf Paladin [Oath of Devotion] (possibly of an Elvish deity if there is a distinction), who cut ties with his family and is looking for his (missing) lover who is accused of participating in the theft of a shipment of silver bullion, and he hopes to clear her name of the theft. Mechanically, this character would be pretty standard.
A Human Warlock [Archfey patron], (a former Bounty Hunter in wildlands) who was taken to the Fey Realm for 15 days to recover from injuries, but 15 years passed upon his return to the material plane. He's looking for his daughter who was taken by those who hurt him. She was six years old then, and would now be twenty-one. Mechanically, this character would focus on being a ranged fighter, not so much of a spellcaster, and would not have proficiency in Arcana, religion or history. He would be a good party face.
A Halfling Wizard [Abjuration], a former gardener from a small Halfling country or enclave. When a battle threatened one of the towns, he was too frightened and saved his own skin at the expense of others, a mistake he remains unable to forgive himself for. He's searching for the Wizard who took him in and mentored him, who vanished or was taken at the tail end of his training.
A Human or Half-Elf Rogue [Investigator], a former watch officer in a city like his father. His father was murdered, and he suspects another policeman to be to blame, so he resigned from the watch. Mechanically, he would specialize in perception, investigation and insight, and be less skilled at stealth (no Stealth expertise).
Which one would be best suited depends on the party composition, and possibly on the character creation process (as in, rolling vs point-buy, whether racial ability score bonuses can be reassigned, whether there's a free first-level feat given out, that sort of thing).
For a couple of characters, I have some possible contributions to the lore of the world. Such as the Dwarven tradition of keeping their family lineage on display on metal beads braided into their beards (and Dwarves who are exiled having their beards shorn).
I would be interested if you are still on the hunt for players. I have experience from 2E till present. been playing on and off locally in person giving this online playing a try as most of the campaigns in town are booked or a lot of people just don't play anymore.
