Application: create a first level character, and post a link to their character sheet below, as well as a two paragraph backstory.
You start this campaign in the Empire of Drasn. The Drasn family line has ruled the empire for over a thousand years. The Drasn family is entirely composed of pure blooded elves, though most of the civilians are not. Indeed, every ruler, local or not, is elven. There have been rumors of half blooded Drasns throughout the years, but if they did exist, they were cut off from the family almost immediately, and vanished soon thereafter.
The empire is split into smaller areas run by local administrations. The group will meet in the state Erkbahr. The Erkbahr line is recent, as every member of the previous family line passed away about a century ago. The Erkbahrs are not very active rulers. There are tax collectors that come through to collect money from homeowners once per year, and tithe collectors who do the same for the national church, but other than those, the Erkbahrs let the people handle their own things. Mayors and other local leaders are always unofficial, but generally ignored. The Erkbahrs only get involved in large scale crime, so the unofficial community leaders deal with the creation of policing forces and often take their own taxes to do so.
You are all 1st-level adventurers. You do not know each other. You signed on with a carter at the Farthor Keep to escort a shipment of seeds and spices to Castle Nehlru far in the north at the tip of the continent. Your leader, Jax, is a nervous young human man, who, for reasons unbeknownst to you, decided to cut through a dangerous wilderness. Perhaps he is after something hidden in the Dunkelwald Forest. Or maybe the strange cloaked passenger that always smells of sulfur and whispers to Jax has something to do with it.
Taking a shipment of trade goods through the Dunkenwald? Ridiculous. Absolute nonsense. Quite possibly deadly. Nobody would ever sign on as guards. That is why Jax turned to you. Adventurers. Adventurers do stupid things all the time. And indeed, here you all are. In the dark and savage wilderness. You four, Jax, and the cloaked figure.

I will protect those I hate. Even ... even if the one I hate most ... is ... myself.
Topaz is someone who wished to protect those who could not be protected, and to punish those that would harm others that cannot protect themselves. He wished to be the shield that protected the innocent. Hence, when he was young, he signed up for the army. However, for whatever reason, he was delegated as a guard. Guard work was boring, just dealing with drunk folk and the whatnot. However, he was sent to try and keep Erkbahr's citizens policed.
This.....failed, unsurprisingly, and he decided he could not keep going with this. He abandoned post, and would try and come to terms with his situation. However, when he was signed on, he knew he had another chance to redeem himself. Though, the whole mysterious figure with Jax bothers him a little. Sure, Jax is their leader, but he somehow....just doesnt like him
Lettuce Blower grew up the most curious gnome in the runt, always seeking a new daring stunt. His father blew glass, it was top class. And in the home guild of town all would frown when the Blower family patriarch hung up his gown. Lettuce thought the business would be his, surely anything else would seem amiss. The eldest son, and skilled like none, surely Lettuce would blow glas for a long time to come. But it was not to be, by his fathers decree, his wiser young brother took over you see. For Lettuce was rash, and unwise with cash. He had talent but not the respect of the lot.
Disgruntled and mad, and also quite sad, Lettuce set out to prove he was stout. He travelled a bit, and he took quite a hit, when he realized the world was so grand and so big. But he was a trooper, and somewhat of a snooper, and with his wit and his grit he succeed to ne'er be a mooper. For with spirits held high and a tinkerers eye, many quests could be completed if maybe they go somewhat awry. With the gift of gab, and glory to nab, Lettuce had by now move on from the gripes that he had. So forward he rode, with foolish bravery in loads, and saw a listing for journey through a forest most grim. Applications were slim, this must be for him! And so Lettuce applied, with glee to the max, and awaited his meeting with the man known as Jax.
Ah, got it. When a sheet is shared like this, the details page cannot be seen by random people with the link. If it is there, and I assume it is because I cannot find it, I won't be able to see it.

I will protect those I hate. Even ... even if the one I hate most ... is ... myself.
Nothing much to see here... just an assassin for hire, typically im the kinda person you call on when you need to "send a message" to the opposition, im no shadow worker though. I prefer my brutal deeds to be seen and strike fear!!!
I prefer not to disclose my true identity with anyone, though ive never held one close enough to care to.
The banner i uphold marks my free agency & neutrality, i don it upon my forearm as if a cuff of sorts and as my pockets no longer ring with coin perhaps its time to find the next job, or perhaps adventuring maybe could be great coin, i hear intricate stories from time 2 time.
Flix Uncia was once the rebellious but good-hearted scion of a wealthy merchant family from the snowy north. She balked at how insensitive some of her family and their aristocratic friends treated those who were less well off, and tried to offset that where she could, but otherwise she loved her family and her home.
That was until she started developing hard silver patches under clumps of shed fur, small horns began to protude behind her ears, and finally froze the ballroom solid quite unexpectedly during an argument. Somewhere dormant in her family line was the liniage of a Silver Dragon.
This stunning revelation was met with two more: 1. Much of her family's wealth and power had been thanks to a mysterious and loathsome group of creatures that use foul means to keep a stranglehold of the north, and 2. This cabal has a mortal enmity with the do-gooder Silver Dragons. Thus, Flix was disowned and exiled. She spent the next several years wandering the land, taking odd jobs for ends meet, and training with her gift so she can one day return and rout the corruption once and for all
Khader has always been aware of the rumors. Even though both of his parents were humans, he looked nothing like his father. HIs father was a strong man with dark brown eyes but Khader was thinner with fine facial features and green eyes. The rumors always implied that he looked almost elf-like in appearance, except he did not have the telltale pointed ears. The rumors continued to grow after his father's death when his mother was able to get a job working for the local noble and continued to grow when the noble became his patron to enter the academy to learn to be a scribe.
Even though he was an excellent student, his time at the academy was not easy. Because of his background, a group of students was always bullying and tormenting him. That was when the dreams started. A young, yet somehow ancient, elf appeared to him one night offering to help him. Every time he had a conflict with the bullies, the woman would return that night to offer her help. As he continued to improve as a student, the bullying got worse and worse going from mere harassment to physical abuse. Then the fateful day happened. Khader was trapped in a room by his bullies and they attacked him harder than ever before. Khader finally uttered the words 'Help me' and blacked out. When he came to, his tormentors were huddled on the floor deathly afraid of him.
Khader is on a personal quest to discover who this mysterious lady is and what she wants from him. From his studies, he believes she is a powerful fey but the fey do not appear to humans. His new patron has appeared to him several times to give him seemingly meaningless tasks. Her newest task is to travel to Castle Nehlru.
As Revilo was going to inherent his fathers lands; He decided to go fourth and forge his own name for himself. As he ventures from town to town people take one look at him and assume the worst. Being a tall dragonborn people assume you are a a bad guy, Revilo just wants to show that things are not always as they seam
