Nestled on the northern shores of The Empire of Kelvastra, between the Brandyrun Woods and Dragontalon Mountains, is the town of Phandalin. Centuries ago, Phandalin was a thriving settlement with deep ties to its neighboring communities. But then bandits overran the town, and Phandalin lay abandoned for centuries.
Only in the past few years, with the last great conflict between The Empire of Kelvastra and The Lucde Alliance coming to a tense treatise of peace, have settlers built a new village on the ruins of the old. These townsfolk hope to grow Phandalin through hard work, camaraderie, and the shared purpose of building a lasting home. Threatening their efforts and their survival are bandits, brigands, and monsters.
Unbeknownst to any townsfolk, a sinister evil lurks deep beneath the town and is plotting a chilling course.
Worshippers of a godlet from the Far Realm are determined to reestablish a long-dwindling empire on the Material Plane. This Godlet, Ilvaash, wants this empire to stretch across Erund's surface, starting with Phandalin as its capital.
These worshipers have discovered pieces of a shattered obelisk of great magical power, left over from the mysterious Aldomina Empire that once occupied this part of the region. After retrieving the remaining fragments, the fanatics of this Godlet plan to infuse the reconstructed obelisk with Illvaash's unholy energy and turn Phandalin's population into thralls loyal to their evil godlet.
This plot is a complex affair, but these fanatics have many allies. As petty bandits vie for control of Phandalin, the fanatics' allies quietly search for pieces of the shattered obelisk. How successful those allies are- and whether Phandalin will fall under the sway of an evil Godlet rests on the shoulders of a group of adventurers who had just signed up to deliver a wagon of supplies.
Welcome to Phandalin. Please tell us you're here to help.

Play in a homebrewed setting that, not to toot my own horn or anything is pretty neat. And that constantly evolves and changes based on player input and ideas.
Now that we have that spiel out of the way, hello weary traveler. I'm Scott. (He/Him)
I'm running Phandelver and Below: The Shattered Obelisk, if you haven't noticed by now. I've been keeping it pretty secret. I know. But, this version is set in a constantly updating homebrewed setting called Erund, which changes based on how campaigns unfold and player input. So if you're looking for something new but familiar, this might be up your alley.
Our game listing page on Roll20 has posts that contain our Rules & Guidelines, explain our Character Building & House Rules, and have a Player Application Survey Link, as well as a short introduction to me, your potential Dungeon Master.
My tables are safe and inclusive spaces. I've been running online games for six years now and playing TTRPGTS for an "oh god you're old" amount of time. A former city thief, Aymeric struck out into the Northern Vale to escape the collapse of a smuggling ring he'd help put together in Illvastre. He's found steady work as a "Death Jumper", a local term for the lone advance scouts for caravans and treks into the harsh, unforgiving wilderness. Aymeric is the Grand Caravan's crack shot and, unfortunately, can sometimes be the only member who notices all the details and dangers of a situation they're running into.
An anthropologist/archeologist with an odd focus on both Dwarven and Goblin cultures and ruins, Chiliaste is the Grand Caravan's resident translator and inventor. While he'd originally set off to Phandelin with no experience in the harsh survival setting, nor any relevant combat experience, Chili has come into his own over the last few months, turning into a brave adventurer and protector for the party. Chili is accompanied by his son/homunculus Beans, constructed out of what Chili called a "coffee maker". The group is unsure what coffee is.
Kraggan Cragjaw - Mountain Dwarf - Divine Soul Sorcerer 2/Pact of The Celestial Warlock 3
The silver-tongued and rainbow-colored beard dwarf named Kraggan wandered into the bandit stronghold in Phandelin in search of a missing family at the behest of the son of a local farming family. Alongside his trusty stuffed Unicorn, Pixie, Kraggan initiated himself into the group with his overwhelmingly positive demeanor and Pixie's sage advice. Pixie and Kraggan established themselves as children's entertainers, even earning Pixie the nickname "The Protector" during their times in the Northern Vale. But now that Pixie can talk, the group is becoming increasingly concerned with her high-pitched cries for violence and watching them all while they sleep. Kraggan doesn't seem to mind.
Rashatar the Mountain - Orc - Path of the Giant Barbarian 5
Rashatar left his tribe in the Wolfjaw Mountains to undertake his proving journey, where he would accomplish a great deed or show of strength, and then return to the tribe to put in his strength as the next Katvaar, leader of the tribe. That was years ago, and Rashatar has still yet to return. He found work and drink with the Rockseeker Trading Hall as bodyguard to one Gundren Rockseeker, and eventually agreed to escort a group of adventurers with supplies up to Phandelin. If there's a plan, he's waiting to hear who he's supposed to hit. If there are more than two people he's supposed to hit, Rashatar calls upon his rage to increase his size and hold the line and protect the smaller members of the Grand Caravan.
