Looking to start a discord channel for older D&D players. There seems to be a void currently, or I just can't find it. Below you will find the link to a server "Where's My Dice" in the very early stages of whatever it turns into. Cheers!
Older players and GMs. How old is older? Asking because for some 30 is older. I'm roughly twice that. Child-raising-years players and GMs have their own special scheduling monster to contend with; it's the most powerful adversary in gaming, for people roughly 19 to 50-ish years old.
What do you wish to do with this discord channel? Discuss D&D yes, but older editions, gaming for "older" folks, what?
Online gaming, I assume? If so, I'm out. Have not yet found an online gaming experience that I could enjoy for long. My problem to contend with, no doubt, but a problem that at least some other older players share. Live table gaming? Now you're talking a much smaller local group of potential participants. Where is this core group located?
So, older is a little subjective, deliberately so in this case. Ideally was looking to attract those in 40 and above crowd but realized people in there 30s could enjoy this as well, they are kind of the tweeners and don't want to leave them out. Main purpose is to match DMs and players to play 5E DnD and not be a 50 something in a group of teens. Don't mind being in a mixed group, but would enjoy it more if the majority were more seasoned :). Cheers and hope you find that live table!
Hey! "older" player looking for a group. I have been playing for about a year now. I was a part of a stead-ish group, but they were either advanced players/DMs or super quick studies, so I was a bit left behind. Also with the scheduling issues, we did a lot of one shots and stop and start campaigns, so as a new player, never really got to hone in on and fully learn a particular character class or race. Saw that you mentioned "seasoned", so wanted to note my experience in case that was an issue. Would love to join, but understand if this is for more experienced players. let me know.
