About Me
Hi there! My name's Drew, a 21yo forever DM. Who is this dashing genius of a DM and what are his credentials I hear you ask. Well, I'm glad you asked! I'm currently in University for a degree in Computer Science, though writing and being a DM have always been my passion. I have a pet dog named Lucky back home, and I occasionally play the likes of Civilization V and Stellaris in my free time. I was first introduced to DMing during the lockdown back in 2020, and I haven't really stopped since. I've been known to run typically very serious games, though I love to sprinkle in and crack a joke here or there while I'm at it just to lighten the mood.
I plan (a lot), but improv is the name of the game. I love working with players to incorporate things from their backstory/the story they want to tell through their character into the world I have made. I also love the party leaving their mark on the world. The setting is dynamic, and your characters' actions will have consequences - for better or for worse.
What I'm looking for
I'm looking for a new group of 18+ creative and friendly players who are interested in participating in what may very well be my magnum opus of a setting (more on that later). I am open to having players new to 5E/TTRPGs at my table, though I do primarily cater to those more experienced. Ideally I'd like this campaign to last for a year, perhaps longer, starting the party at level 2 and ending up somewhere around 18-20.
The Setting
Tired of your standard fantasy adventure? Of meeting in a tavern and encountering 2d6 goblins on your way to generic village #28? Well do I have good news for you, because my settings don't prescribe to those typical DnD tropes, and this one is no exception!
For Forty Eight Generations, the city of Elysia has stood under the watchful eye of The Empire. Ruled over by the Royal Family of Tyor, the great city of stone is all everyone in it has ever known, all they do know. A curious blend of medieval and enlightenment technology, the city's people protected and served by the mechanical Caretakers that first built it and birthed mortalkind. Their society has weathered the test of nigh a thousand years, Or *had*, up until only a Generation ago.
A remarkably poor harvest, uncontrolled abuse by tax collectors, harsh crackdowns and slights against the common people born from nepotism and arrogance had over the span of many Generations become so egregious that an uprising against the Royal Line became a matter of 'when' rather than 'if'. The final straw came from a miners strike in the Pit, the lowest and poorest of the City's rings. Discontent over how they were being overworked and underpaid led to riot, which inevitably, led to bloodshed. The Bloody Roses Massacre, as it would come to be called, took the lives of eighteen workers and severely damaged a Caretaker unit.
The 14 Days of Hate followed, a brutal and bloody revolution which took the lives of nearly twenty eight thousand citizens, as technology and magic butchered and maimed huge swathes of people. In the end the Pit seceded from The Empire, forming the People's Republic of the Pit. And for a generation now, that tenuous peace has held.
Yet, that peace again threatens to unravel. Last week, and for the first time in nearly fifty Generations, the Spire, the wonder which provides Elysia with it's light briefly winked out during a time when maintenance had not been scheduled. For the past month, small tremors shake the city, quakes that have only seemed to grow more intense with each passing week. Resources grow scarcer, and a terrible truth is about to be uncovered by a team of Divers, far beneath the twinkling lights of the spire.
The only question now remains, shall the city's people survive to see daylight? Or are the Elysians doomed to die in darkness?

The Game
We'll be using Milestone leveling, and will be utilizing only the classes and races found in the PHB (with the exception of those races from Mordenkainen's Monsters of the Multivers as well). Trust me, as much as I love homebrew races and classes, I've admittedly been blindsided at times at just how unexpectedly strong some can be.
ERP
To address the elephant in the room, yes, I am looking to include some limited aspects of ERP during the campaign. By no means is ERP to become a primary or driving factor behind the campaign, and will be strictly relegated to being a dessert, rather than the main course. We'll still be fading to black during any such scenes during sessions ofc. Though in most circumstances (provided all participating parties have consented), they will be played out either over text or VC sometime after the session. Above all else, consent is the most important rule when it comes to this subject. If someone does not want to rp out a specific scene, or otherwise engage in a scenario of their choosing, they're by no means obligated to do so.
With that said, I'm looking primarily for individuals who are actively interested in participating in ERP, rather than merely tolerating it in the background. I don't have any real preference for who you are OOC as well, as I'll be playing both male and female NPCs if a PC wishes to engage in such activities with them.
Conclusion
So if any of that at all sounds interesting to you, please feel free to fill in the form below. If you have any questions, feel free to message me on here or comment below. Tanks for reading, and I hope to speak with you soon. :)
I have filled out your form but I do want to say something here just in case you don't see it. Your world building already, with what limited information we can see here, is phenomenal and you did an excellent job at summarizing events that are leading up to your story in a clean, concise way without spoiling anything about what you plan to do in the first session. I truly hope I have the honor of joining you in this world that you OBVIOUSLY have taken great lengths to design, but if it is not meant to be then I wish you all the best and a FANTASTIC campaign.
This sounds like an interesting campaign. I've also completed the form 👍

Cat lover. Tea lover. Fantasy story lover. Queer. She/Her.
I love playing as a player and DM. My favourite thing about DnD is the story and roleplay aspect of it. So if you're playing with me, expect a lot of that!
Hey, thanks! I appreciate the vote of confidence :)
And sorry I didn't see these posts earlier- I am not typically very active on DnDBeyond. I just want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all of your interest, even if you do not end up getting in. At this point I've gotten over 100 applicants, and choosing who to approve or not has been a very long process. I've been trying to do interviews all day! But I believe I am closing in on my first batch of players.
Tomorrow, I am going to be closing the form, and by the end of the day, I hope to have everything finalized. In case any of the players have to drop however, those that have already applied will surely be the first I go to to find replacements. So thanks again for all of the love, and I hope you all have a good night. :)
