Hey there! After our old game lost several players over the last 18 months due to various RL obligations, we came to the conclusion to start over and invite a few more people to play with us.
This campaign is mainly aimed for those players who are interested in exploring the past of the Forgotten Realms and learn about the setting’s vast and exciting history. If you ever wondered when major cities were founded, why major wars have been fought and what the outcome of these conflicts were, how the various well-known factions were established, or what famous NPCs of the land have been through and how their involvement in certain events shaped the world as it is today; this campaign is for you!
We will start with a group of fresh(er) characters who are free to travel wherever they want and explore the Realms as they see fit, but with a (not so) little twist. They will have access to a powerful relic that allows them to travel back in time and either observe or participate in momentous events that took place throughout history. They might witness the founding and destruction of kingdoms, the rise and eventual fall of giants and dragons, conflicts raging for thousands of years, dark forces grasping for world domination and the legendary heroes who stopped them time and again; covering history from the dawn of time to just about a few years ago.
The players will have free reign to either explore the world as it is today, or delve into history’s pages, with no central plot that they have to follow or feel restricted by. They may even try to intervene in certain events of the past in an attempt to rewrite history for a better tomorrow…
And while this is certainly a rather unorthodox approach to a campaign idea, the players who are already present, alongside myself, are very excited to give this a try, and in my personal opinion I think this has tremendous potential to be something special. One thing I am convinced of: If you have so far nothing more than fleeting knowledge of the Realms, once this campaign has concluded, you will have a newfound appreciation for the setting and interacting with it from there on out will have so much more meaning.
If this sounds interesting to you, please send me a message here or in Discord under 'dmrhuarc' and we can have a chat! :)
