Hello,
I’m hoping to find a D&D game that is dedicated, consistent, and long term. I like games where everyone has an opportunity to roleplay. I’ve played in campaigns where one or two players dominated the RP and the DM moved on too quickly from the scene. I enjoy listening to other players’ stories even if I’m not apart of the scene at all. For me that’s as much, a part of the game as taking turns in combat.
Of course, taking turns in RP doesn’t really make sense, but do I like it when DM’s ask players things along the lines of: “So, what is your character doing right now?” or “What is your character thinking/feeling?” Even if their character isn’t in the “spotlight” of that particular scene, it’s an awesome way to get all players engaged and feel included in the roleplaying aspect of the game. I enjoy playing in games where a DM’s describes the environment in detail and allows time for describing cool moves in combat. I like to describe how I’m casting magic and what it looks like or how I attack with a weapon and even how I missed. Just saying “I cast firebolt” every time and nothing else is a bit boring and far less immersive for me.
I’m not an actor by any means, but I do my best to play an immersive character. I like creating a rich backstory and I find it enjoyable to see DM’s incorporate the players’ backstories into their games. I’ve played mostly homebrew games and a module or two. So, I don’t really have a ton of knowledge of official D&D lore. I mean there is Baldur’s Gate, but that’s about it.
I would like to play in a more serious game. D&D is a game I want to be fully engaged with and I’m hoping to find a like-minded group. A bit of fun here and there is great, but I’m not a fan of joke characters. I prefer rules as written, tho I don’t mind a few homebrew rules. However, I don’t care for spells or mechanics to be drastically changed or altered.
I have a knowledge cleric that I’m hoping to bring to the game. I made her for another campaign that didn’t end up working out and I’d like to give her another go for a new game.
Thanks for taking the time to read. If you have more questions, please feel free to ask. I’d love to hear about your campaign and to see if I would be a good fit for your game.
Greetings! If you interested in daring adventure and a good balance of role-play and action I am starting a new Baldur's Gate - Descent into Avernus campaign next week. Its a great adventure which involves the players breaking into Hell in order to rescue an entire city from damnation. New and veteran players alike are welcome. If Wednesdays are ok and you are interested can find more info or join here: https://startplaying.games/adventure/clu7v96ec001g08l9ai8zgbkv

Greetings Adventurers! Thanks for stopping by. A little about myself: My name is Adam West and I come from Ireland 🇮🇪. I have been a Dungeon Master for over 15 years and a D&D player for even longer. I have run many long term campaigns over the years including: Out of the Abyss, Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus, and Curse of Strahd.
I'm currently in a module on Friday nights in a table full of engaged roleplayers. I'm hoping we find a DM for a long-term campaign next year, but I'm doing this and looking for one-shot DM's to keep the group rolling while schedules free up.
If you're interested, message me.
