Takhisis the Dragon Queen has returned to the world of Krynn.  Across the land, her armies of fanatical draconian wage a brutal war of conquest.  As the Dragon armies march on the unprepared nation of Solamnia, only the defenders of the city of Kalaman stand in their way. But the Dragon Armies want more than just to crush their foes.  An ancient evil in the Dragon Queen's Service seeks a magical weapon that could dominate Krynn for all time.

Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen is a tale of conflict and defiance set during the legendary War of the Lance.  Create Characters from Krynn, the world of the Dragonlance setting, then march them to the front lines of battle against the terrifying Dragon Armies.

Hello!  My name is Kudo! Also known here as The Temur Lemur.  I have been a DM for the past 10 years.  I am the designated forever DM in most groups I play with and love to help everyone write a fun co-operative story!  I am available for message almost anytime and am usually good about meeting up to talk character shop!  I love helping Characters shine and making sure everyone has a chance at the spot light. Character Creation

As the Dragon Queen’s forces march across Krynn, heroic souls rise to defy her. Forged in the crucible of war, these remarkable few are all that stand between the peace-loving peoples of Krynn and an age of oppression.

This chapter presents player-facing details of peoples and groups in Krynn, as well as character options supplementing the rules in the Player’s Handbook. Herein, you’ll find the following sections:

Peoples of Krynn. Learn about the peoples of Krynn and how they might inspire your next character.

Race Option. Play as a kender, a character race known for bravery and curiosity.

Organizations. Discover two of Krynn’s most influential groups, the honorable Knights of Solamnia and the mystical Mages of High Sorcery.

Backgrounds. Learn how war shapes your character, and choose from two new backgrounds: the Knight of Solamnia and Mage of High Sorcery.

Feats. Draw on the power of magic, honor, or the gods with this selection of feats.

Subclass Option. Tie your magic to Krynn’s three mystical moons with the Lunar Sorcery sorcerer subclass.

Rules!

• Rating: NC 17 - Violence, cursing, gore, and dark themes are all welcome. However I am not here to rp smut. As such sex scenes will be strictly fade to black.
• I try to give everyone time to have spotlight. If you're feeling your character isn't shining in the story the way that you would like, feel free to reach out about including NPCs that have more to do with your backstory! I'm here to help you all build your own stories, If you're not having fun, there's no point.
• I reward Creativity. Think of a cool way to take down the boss? Rp it out, I reward inspiration for detailed rp.
• Hopefully we're all adults and can talk in turn, however if I find that people are talking over each other or not letting others have a chance in the limelight, I will impose initiative based turn mode till order can be reclaimed.
• I am great at improvisation. You can min-max or play what you want and I will work with it. Session Zero I will go over how to balance the party with options you guys have selected, but if you guys decide you want to play "Oops all Clerics" I will run with it. Just expect the normal encounters in the book to be buffed accordingly.
• I will not cancel sessions unless I have two call offs. I need to keep it fair to those of us who are showing up and paying every week. If I have one person call off every week I will just barrel on. However I will come up with a story reason of why your character was Awol. I don't want to have to stop the campaign to recruit so I won't. I have a friend playing along to help keep numbers and notes when people are unavailable. We all have lives if you're going to be out, just communicate. Your spot will be saved as long as you don't ghost.

Session Zero on Monday will be free while we set up. After that I will charge $7 a session over Paypal. You don't have to pay till after the session so I can ensure Satisfaction but you will not be able to join the next until you pay for the previous without proper notice. I put just as much research and work into each and every campaign as I do in taking the time to make these posts.  It's a craft and a time sink and I still got bills to pay as well as love to reinvest into new books or side adventures from the DMs guild to flesh out the world.

ADVENTURE HOOKS

Preludes

This adventure is a little different in how it starts, in that there aren't different hooks to choose from, however, there are three preludes or routes that you can take.

Players should use chapter 1 to create characters connected to Krynn and, if possible, to one another. They should also each have a connection to a mutual friend named Ispin Greenshield. Ispin has recently passed away, and the characters are invited to his funeral in Vogler.

Before retiring to the village of Vogler, Ispin Greenshield traveled across Ansalon as a teacher, trader, and adventurer. Along the way, he forged friendships with each of the characters. Each character knows the following information about him:

• Ispin was a good-natured human adventurer from Solamnia.
• Ispin took his name from a distinctive green shield he found early in his adventuring career. He claimed the shield was magical, but it had no obvious magical properties.
• The bighearted Ispin loved telling tall tales of his travels to anyone who would listen.
• Ispin used to adventure with a human Knight of Solamnia named Becklin and a hill dwarf warrior named Cudgel. These two featured in many of Ispin’s stories of fighting sea monsters and goblin raiders.
• Ispin retired from traveling years ago, becoming a permanent resident of a little-known village in Solamnia called Vogler.

The Meeting Ispin Greenshield table suggests a few ways characters might have come to know and likely respect Ispin. Players can elaborate on these connections however they’d like. Characters can use their relationship with Ispin to reinforce how they know one another.

Ispin Greenshield wished to have his life celebrated in a simple way, with friends from the lands he traveled joining for festivities and sharing stories. Upon Ispin’s death, his friend Becklin Uth Viharin, a Solamnic knight stationed in Vogler, sought to fulfill Ispin’s wish and sent each of the characters a copy of the letter presented as handout 2.1.

Each character has agreed to attend Ispin’s funeral and has set off on the road to Vogler. The extent of this undertaking might vary for each character. Characters who travel by sea disembark at the port of Kalaman (detailed in chapter 4) and then travel by road to Vogler. The characters’ travels are largely uneventful until the final leg of their journey 

This section presents three short encounters for 1st-level characters, each highlighting a unique aspect of the Dragonlance setting. These encounters focus on the following events:

“Broken Silence” heralds the gods’ return and provides participating characters with a better understanding of their relationship to the gods.

“Eye in the Sky” sets participating characters on the path to becoming members of the Mages of High Sorcery (see chapter 1).

“Scales of War” reveals the mysterious draconians.
