Game: D&D 5e Group type: Online (Discord/Roll20) Experience: A few Years Location/Timezone: Eastern Time (US) Schedule: Biweekly Sundays - 8 to 11 PM Roles sought: 5 Players Game style: Balanced mix of Combat and Roleplay
Hi all! I am a DM with 7+ years of experience looking for Players to start up a new campaign on Sunday evenings (from around 8 to 11 PM eastern time). This will largely be a sandbox campaign, with the storyline being determined based on where the characters' (and players') interests lie. The campaign will run every other week, except for our first two weeks - Session 0 will take place next sunday, April 21st, with the actual start taking place on April 28th.
The game will take place in my Wanderlands setting, though as part of session 0, we will be collaboratively creating the actual region the campaign will take place, using a world-building system adapted from Fabula Ultima - character creation will follow based on that. Please see the next section for a basic intro to the Wanderlands setting.
The Wanderlands
The Wanderlands is a unique world, a bright mosaic made up of bits of dozens, if not hundreds, of different worlds. People, creatures, objects, and buildings are known to show up suddenly in churning storms of magic, with no known way of returning to their original world. It is largely, if not completely, unknown on other planes.
Those who find themselves in the Wanderlands - Wanderers, as they are popularly called - may have no recollection of how they came to be there, often simply waking up in a strange place. Effectively stranded in this new world, Wanderers often have nothing to their name but the clothes on their back and any items on their person. They may quickly find that any high tech items that they have - those that run on electricity, for example - are non-functional.
Communication is easier, thankfully, as they may quickly find that they are able to understand and speak the Wanderlands’ common tongue, and if they are literate, read its script. Many of the people living in the Wanderlands have some sympathy for a newly arrived wanderer’s situation. Those living within the Wanderlands are ultimately the descendants of Wanderers, if they are not wanderers themselves.
Some other things of Note!
-Campaign will take place on Roll20 (including character sheets) with Discord used for voice.
-I expect my players to have a basic level of respect for each other - no racism, homophobia, etc. This is an LGBTQ+ friendly campaign.
-No minors please!
-Feel free to ask me any questions, I'd be happy to answer them.
If you're interested, please fill out the following form and reply to the thread: (I won't be considering anyone who does not use the form)
Heya, I'd be interested in joining. Answers to your form are as follows:
Name (whatever you'd like to be called): Jade, I use neutral pronouns for myself but don't really care what others use for me.
Age: 26, turning 27 in a few months
Experience Level: Low experience with improv and roleplay, relatively knowledgeable about game mechanics and character creation. No experience using roll20 prior to this, willing to learn.
What are you hoping to see in this campaign?: I'm actually not sure yet! I want to get my feet wet and work through a conclusive character arc (for better or worse, or even death!), and get some actual experience playing with others, but I'm also happy to go through a hack'n'slash meat grinder if that's what the rest of the group is interested in.
If this gets accepted, you can shoot me a PM and ask for my discord info (it shocks me how many people just put that out publicly on these forums) for any further questions you have. Thanks, hope to hear from you soon!
Name (whatever you'd like to be called): nod, or my characters name
Age:20
Experience Level:4-5 years of 5e 2 years of 1st Adnd (advanced edition), i have used Roll 20 but we stopped due to the annoyance i may keep track of things on DND beyond while rolling on roll 20 due to ease of use
What are you hoping to see in this campaign?: honestly idk im just here to have fun and be a part of a tale for the ages. and Explore this world while im at it. also fair warning im a HB addict though this does mean i can help make HB
though if i do get excepted plz don't try to hint at things i will not catch them (unless its an in game hint cause i got alot of time to thonk on them) if i do/say something ur not ok with put it bluntly if i got a problem with it then that's my problem
Experience: I've played a handful of sessions across two campaigns, but neither lasted more than a month, sadly. I've DM'd a one-person campaign with my little sister, but that was goofy. Other than that I've listened to a few podcasts a played through two acts of Balder's Gate 3.
What am I hoping to see? Fun role-play, cool world building, and at least one funny character in the party. I am willing to be said funny character, if I need to be.
