Hello and good day to all my potential jungle delving prospects, I'm in search of a party to play through Tomb of Annihilation, one of the 5e prewritten adventurers. For those unfamiliar with the adventure, the basic premise is that a curse is sweeping the lands, preventing the dead from being revived and slowly sapping the life away from any who have previously received the gift of resurrection. The party is one of several groups gathered by a wealthy Baldurian merchant, either by owed favors, hired for payment, or just interested in the opportunity to see a strange land. You will be sent off to Chult, a land of jungles, mountains, and rivers all of which host a variety of dangers including disease, dinosaurs, and the living dead, with the goal of locating and destroying the curses source. As for the mechanical side of the campaign, ToA is a hexcrawl over rather expansive jungle, with starvation and weather being notable threats. I'll be opting for the one dnd playtest material, which does mean you will need use a fillable or physical character sheet, sessions will be hosted at 5pm pacific standard time or 8pm eastern standard time on sundays, and can be expected to last between 2 1/2 to 4 1/2 hours, sessions will be done through a combination of voice and text on discord. Most combat encounters will be run using combat maps on owlbear rodeo. Now onto the few requirements I have for my players, which exist to try and ensure the best possible experience for all those involved, players need to be between 18-30 years of age, need to have a working microphone, need to be able to regularly attend sessions, and I will only be accepting lone applicants not preestablished groups, and remember the point of the dnd is to have fun for everyone at the table, be kind and respect your fellows. If all that is acceptable to you, I'll just have you answer a few questions to help sort our prospects, either reply to this post or dm me with your answers, and make sure to include your discord name so I can get a hold of you. What is your experience level with the game? How old are you? What kind of character are thinking about playing? How familiar are you with The Forgotten Realms/Faerun as a setting? Have you played any of the prewritten 5e adventurers before? What's your favorite part of a session? What's your most memorable experience with dnd? On a scale of 1-10, how active are you at the table? 10 being Matthew Mercer, 5 being those who try to contribute at least once or twice an encounter, 1 being the chair in the corner of the room. What's your favorite dinosaur? Feel free to ask any questions either here in the replies or dm me. We are shooting for the 28th of April for our first session, so this post will remain open until the end of the 26th.
Hey there, I'm eighteen. I'm fairly new to online D&D, however I'd want to play as a druid Goliath. I've never played The Forgotten Realms/Faerun or any prewritten 5e adventurers. I would rate myself as a 4 on the active range, and my favorite memory is playing with my brother in middle school. My most beloved Dino has got to be the Protoceratops
I have been playing/running dnd for about a decade now
26
Cleric, monk, or wizard depending on what the party needs. I have characters already that never got to see the light of day :(
I am at an above average level of familiarity with the forgotten realms
Unfortunately I haven’t, my friends always wanna homebrew their own stuff haha
Combat and meaningful RP is what brings me to the table! But honestly I love everything about DND.
My most memorable experience was probably when I remembered I could polymorph myself on my sorcerer named Z. I polymorphed myself into a trex during a combat encounter and from that point on I was know as Z-Rex.
Depends on the day, I’ve been the 1 and the 10 but I think more often than not I am hovering around a 7
I have been playing dnd for about 2 years now I am 24 years old I kind of want to try out a rogue, but I am not 100% certain. I am somewhat familiar with the setting details I have played 2 prewritten adventures My favorite would have to be player to player Rp In a session I was in, the barbarian in group(not me) took a running leap off a mountain to try to grapple dragon out of the air... and failed horribly. I tend to range form 4 to 7 depending on the activity level of the others My favorite dinosaur would be a pteranodon (Greatly influenced by Ark survival)
I am 24, been playing for about 4 years now. I'm big into rp/utility characters, Bards top of mind. Did a starter campaign in the setting but not much else. Did a couple beforehand. player to player interactions I had been playing a ranger and our DM had been throwing higher and higher CR monsters at us to try and slow our group down. We were level 7 and I ended up 1-1 a CR 9 monster. I didn't know until after but it was a fun moment where respect the 1v1 turned out well. 7-8 I like to engage with other players and pick around what we're seeing in the world. Therizinosaurus - dinosaur Edward scissor hands. When art reflects reality.
