For three long years, Gilead system suffered from being cut off from the rest of the Imperium by Cicatrix Maledictum. The arrival of Rogue Trader Jakel Varonius seems to have turned the fortunes to the better, but it's a far cry from being safe or secure. Food is growing scarce, there is no external trade, and the political tensions are heating up.

The world of Charybdion provides most of the prometheum fuel for the system, yet it is plagued by unrest. It doesn't help matters that the Planetary Governor up and disappeared without a trace. The Gilead system needs that promethium. What's more important, Jakel Varonius' fleet needs that promethium.

That's where you come in. Your patron sends you down to the dark oceans of Charybdion to investigate and resolve matters - preferrably without it blowing up in everyone's faces..."
