I’d like to organize a regular in-person D&D group in Concord, and am posting this to find some interested players. If this sounds good to you, I hope you’ll get in touch!
Game: D&D 5e Group type: Face-to-face in the Concord, New Hampshire area Experience: Open and friendly to all experience levels, though some experience with roleplaying in general would be great! Location/Timezone: Concord, New Hampshire. A group Discord will be used to coordinate and chat between games. Schedule: See below Roles sought: 4-5 Players Game style: Roleplaying focus
The Story:
The campaign takes place in an original setting dominated by a powerful religious order known as the Church of the Twin Divines. Led by the Prince Bishop, tensions are rising between the Church and the people of Castleton, and there are whispers of rising persecution flowing through the city’s streets. In a kingdom where magic, non-humans and other religions are barely tolerated, it is your character’s decisions which will shape the future of their world for the better... or for the worse.
The Group:
At minimum, I’d like to meet monthly, possibly more if schedules align. Saturday or Sunday afternoons are preferred, though I’m open to evening meetings on weekday nights. The goal is to have 4-5 adult players, including myself as GM, and I am willing to host. No payments will be asked for or accepted - this is just for fun and to meet some new people.
Me and How I GM:
Outside of the gaming space, I am in my 40s and work as an educator in NH. I was introduced to D&D in my early teens and, after a 20 year hiatus, returned to tabletop gaming 8 years ago. Since then, I’ve participated in multiple campaigns as a player while having run 4 successful campaigns as a GM. Sadly, my last group dissolved due to some outside issues, so I am looking for a new one!
As a GM, I am seeking creative folks to tell a good story. Rules are a helpful framework, but I subscribe to the “rule of cool,” and I’m willing to bend things for the sake of the narrative. My goal in running a game is for each of my players to have the chance to feel like a hero, to feel like their contributions matter, and, overall, for everyone to have a great time.
My Preferences:
My games are meant to be fun, supportive, and open to all. Bigotry, hatefulness or any “creepy” behavior at my table is not tolerated. I actively touch base with players after intense story beats, am open to feedback, and do my best to make sure folks are feeling safe and respected at all times.
As previously mentioned, I do not keep strictly to the rulebook, and am not interested in players min-maxing their characters to “break” the game. My games have a roleplay focus above all. It is preferred that the characters you bring to the table are realistic with both strengths and flaws, and that you have the understanding that a good story doesn’t always mean success.
I love humor, and my games often include elements of it. In our current world, laughter is a wonderful medicine. A balance between serious RP and the occasional funny moment is something I strive for.
Sounds great! How do I sign up?
You can get in touch with me at shmeds717@yahoo.com! I’ll set up a time to chat with all potential players individually to discuss play style, thoughts on potential characters, and answer any questions you might have for me. I’ll look forward to hearing from you!
I would be very interested! Have past exp AD&D & 5E, would love to have an opportunity to be a part of the group. remember it is always possible I would bring snacks!
I would also very much like to join the group if ever you have an opening. I run an inn on a lake in Northwood with a private Tavern where I used to host D&D nights. Unfortunately my group disbanded after covid and most of them moved away. I'm really hoping to either join a group or find a DM to start up the tavern again.

Unfortunately we've filled up for now. But, if someone drops out you'll be the first on my list to know! Snacks are always welcomed. :-)

It's been a bit - but, any room at the Inn? Maybe create a new table? I'm new to this after (ahem) 30 some years..... but all for the local games!
Likewise! If there is no more room at this table, would anyone want to start another game?
Hi folks. This thread more or less closed 6 months ago, and there is no group right now to invite to. I'd recommend starting a new thread. Thanks!
