Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online (Discord preferred) Experience: Very new Location/Timezone: Massachusetts (EST) Availability: 8pm onwards every night EXCEPT Friday and Sunday Preferred role: Player Game style: So far only played 2 sessions of a campaign with my friends so very new but really wanting to play more than one campaign a week. Enthusiastic and looking for people who are able to be a little patient as I continue to learn and get my bearings. :)
Hello there. I live in CT. Where in Mass are you all from? I'm looking for Monday-Wednesday and could play from 7 pm till 11 pm both off line and on-line. I can play as well as run (I like to run games that are high-fantasy, political intrigue or similar)
Hey Stephanis, I'm down for all of those topics you mentioned, and any of those times work great for me. I'm friends with iNostradamas, currently trial-and-error-ing a session for him and our buddies. I'm more familiar with being a PC and have played in a number of campaigns and one offs.
I am hella in. I know a lot about DMing, but am looking for more sessions to actually play in. I'm available on Thursdays, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday after 8.
I have a group on Friday that I play with off line and have an agreement to not play on Thursdays and weekends (Sunday could work for on-line, depends on the times, if it is 7-11, then that should not be an issue).
I have never done an on-line hosted before, so I am unfamiliar with Roll-20 (though I have an account) and I do have discord.
Political intrigue is fun (especially in Eberron). I've been working on something that is based on the movie Annihilation (and I love Game of Thrones).
If I did run, it will probably be "evil" or "morally ambiguous" with no alignments (to fit that setting). And for those whom like it, yes combat (but the type that allows out-of-the-box thinking)
And that is perfectly fine. I really need to look at the logistics and what I would need in order to run. I don't want to half-ass something, nothing would be more disappointing than that.
I have a pretty good familiarity with Roll20, I've been using it for the campaign I'm running. It has some intricacies, but most can be ignored. Just make sure to have lots of different battlemaps premade, I found that out the hard way when my PCs almost got into a barfight the 2nd session in and I didn't have a bar map XD
So if you need any pointers for it, I'd be able to set you in the right direction!
Oh I do, it is not very intuitive for me and I am in IT lol I think I have to buy tokens/map packs/battle mats for 5e as the base does not seem to have much. What do you recommend? (I am also looking at Fantasy Grounds)
I'm more than happy to run a crash course for you, if you want to join discord sometime soon, I can show you the basics. Unfortunately you have to make a lot of the things you want from scratch on Roll20. What's Fantasy grounds?

Central Mass so off-line would be a bit of a hassle but those hours work fine for me. :)

Sunday 7-11 is actually when our friend session meets so if we did it would have to be Mon-Wed 7-11 like you said.

https://www.fantasygrounds.com -- a bigger cost, but seems to possibly have better potential.
Here is my discord: JasonCarrier#8124 I am not really free till next week (things are really crazy at work)
Also if someone wants to run till I get my legs under me, I am cool with that as well.
I added you on Discord. We can all get on on Monday the 16th at 7pm just to talk and figure stuff out and then go from there. Is that ok with you?
Bump
Yo! I'm in Ontario, EST, can I can very well be up at 8. I'm more of a player, though, lol. Discord is Heir of Light - Daige#7131
Ok, I added you both!
I will be on Discord tonight from 7pm onwards Steph if you are able to come in and chat so we can get stuff rolling.
I have a meeting with a solar company, so I might be late or if I am there not able to do voice/video
