Hey Hey, I run a west marches game with about 15+ players and their characters who are all apart of this guild of adventurers and heros called the Dragon's Heart Guild. The players go on missions and quest threw out their time in the guild that wil take them throughout their city, country or even their continent. These quest are given by the DM's and will be played as one-shots, mini campaigns (3 sessions most). The way it works is that whenever you have some time in your schedule, and have that itch to play some DnD you would come up with a mission and than post it in our channel which the players could have the choice to sign their character up for it. If the time and date that you (DM) will post with the mission matches their availiblity than they can RSVP.
Theres other things as well to make sure everyone is having fun and a fair time, such as Downtime which can be used 2x a week through text or VC for their character to give them some depth and let them interact with the world, and in a way make it their own.
For Example, A player is usually very busy and unable to play a session this week. So they can text one of the DM's to do some downtime in order to let their character do something they would love for them to do.
In return and to keep the leveling as balance as possible taking a downtime can lead to some XP.
When it comes to arcs and world lore, even in a game style like this I made sure to include a lot of it, but still leaving plenty enough space for new DM's to flex their own creative muscles. And once in a while we can all come togethor to plan a arc that will send the guild into something that they all can interact with.
For Example: all 4 DM's think its time to throw a serious event at the players, so we plan what it would be and in one of the next missions the DM will trigger the event launching the entire guild house into the event.
This campaign is still fairly new, but I believe with some more DM's who know they can play at least 2-3 a month , very creative, interactive and open I think this guild could become something of history.
Also all games are done through discord and vc, and most of our players are EST.
If interested in being one of the DM's in the guild hmu on my discord jeff_themammel
PS. After I find three DM's we'll be looking for some more players so if interested and not a DM send that application through anyways! HAVE A GREAT DAY
