I can offer you and your buddy an invitation into a westmarch style Discord server. The style of play is a little different to a regular game/campaign. You create your character(s) without any particular DMs input and then your character, who exists in a sort of dimensional nexus gets called upon for adventures to different DMs (worlds) in more of a consecutive one-shot style of play. We also have a strong team of mentors and knowledgeable DMs who are good at teaching newbies the ropes.
