I am somewhat new to 5e, been messing around with the character generator to get a grasp on how to make characters that are effective(despite not having access to the players handbook on DnD Beyond yet). Looking for a group that is fairly laid back, doesn't shy from RP/ridiculous interactions.
I have Discord for voice comms and as a dice roller, and am not against using roll20
Fairly flexible in terms of classes/roles I can play, only ones I am completely lost on are Paladin and Bard(though I do have my favorites)
Free most evening hours(USA Central Timezone), prefer Friday-Sunday, but if there is a session during the week so long as it is evening hours(starting 9pm-3am) I should have no problem making it.
If you have any questions feel free to DM me on the site here or respond to this post.
Edit: I am willing to hop into a campaign that's been going on as well as a new start, just be sure to let me know the details if I'm joining in late. I don't mind filling in a missing role.
Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online / Face-to-face / either Experience: New Location/Timezone: Montana/Mountain Time Availability: Flexible Preferred role: Player Game style: casual, roleplay(maybe)
Hi, I'm Stabs. I'm 34 and looking forward to trying d&d!
I have never played. I've watched all of critical role so I have some second hand knowledge on rules. I have two characters that I'm working on. One is pretty close to done (couple of issues and DM approval). Second is a little tougher of a build. Both are homebrew characters. I've never played online so that will be new to me. I have the 5e players handbook. My character is a Witcher (warlock/fighter) class.
Just as a side note I have a new puppy that I will have to get up for on occasion.
Anymore info or if you're interested feel free to message me! Thanks
I'm Mason. I'm 17 and I too want to try it out. I have no experience actually playing but I have watched a few podcasts. The character id like to play is a Half-orc fighter though can change for the groups' needs, it prefers not to get too deep into magic though.
Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Online / Face-to-face / either (never done online before so that should be fun) Experience: 12 seesions as a player and 10 as a DM Location/Timezone: Villa Park, IL CST (That is near Chicago for geo) Availability: 7:00 PM CST and beyond on Thursday / Friday / Saturday / Sunday - Basically, when my son to falls asleep... Preferred role: PC but happy to DM to give another DM a break.
Game style: Casual and pretty open to either Narrative or Tactical play, but prefer Narrative. Only played in one group and now leading my own homebrew - both face to face. I enjoy low to high fantasy, Mystery, horror, and dark or comedic styles of games.
between this post, this post and this post there is eight or nine people looking for a group all we need is a DM and we'd have enough people for a game even if everyone can't consistently make it
I am more then happy to play a campaign with all of you, yet I am not too comfortable DMing for 5e as I'm missing some of the books. If we can find someone to DM or if you all would want to run a Pathfinder Campaign, I could DM one of those.
I wouldn't mind trying one in pathfinder but I don't know anything about pathfinder, at all! I have 5e players handbook and the arcane card and ranger card sets.
hi guys I literally just made a character with near to no knowledge and I've only watched around about 10 hours of D&D but really want to play as a tiefling warlock
game: D&D 5e
group preferred: online
experience: none
location/timezone: great Britain
availability: everyday for 2 months at 1pm to 10pm with breaks for food
preferred role: player
game style: casual but willing to give roleplay a try
also you might have to teach me some things until I get the books

what books are you missing
I wouldn't mind trying one in pathfinder but I don't know anything about pathfinder, at all! I have 5e players handbook and the arcane card and ranger card sets.
I got the players handbook the DM book and the monster manual and the guide to everything, all in PDF form so I can share with whoever needs it
for 5e I only have the players handbook as a physical copy, for a pathfinder campaign all the info is on a site called d20pfsrd
