Hello, my name is Nathan and I'm a recent arrival to the Dungeons and Dragons game. I'm looking for a non-paid, new player-friendly online game group to join.
About me:
I'm 31 years old and have had an interest in games, fantasy, and storytelling for most of my life. I live in Queensland, Australia. While I have never played Dnd before, I have over 10 years of experience in text-based fantasy/adventure roleplay with friends. I have always been aware of Dnd; however, it recently grew in interest after viewing a number of media around the subject (some of the old-fashioned DnD movies, Critical Role Campaign 2, Baldur's Gate 3), and it piqued my interest in wanting to try the game for myself.
I have done my best to learn about the game as much as I can through the media I have seen, as well as online guides, and I purchased the Player's Handbook to help with the rules and mechanics of the game. While I have not memorized it as there is a lot of stuff to learn, I feel I have an okay grasp on the basics, but I may still need some assistance here and there on certain subjects.
I am very interested in joining a Homebrew Campaign that is primarily centered around roleplaying and combat, and I am eager to see the amazing creations and stories a potential DM can create. I am happy with any kind of scenarios or content the DM may have. Mature themes and sexual content are fine within reason, I would prefer nothing over the top and overly horrific. I of course have acess to a computer and have Discord for voice/video chat, Roll20 though i am still new to that site and DnD Beyond for Character Sheets, I have my own dice and dice tray in RL as well as a notepad and player handbook for use in game but i am open to any other things a potential DM would require so long as its too invasive in terms of programs.
As I live in Australia, my timezone would be Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST), and as stated above, I am primarily interested in joining an online game. My preferred time to play is Monday to Sunday from 8:00 pm to 12:00 am, and I am not expecting anything to change within that time frame unless something unexpected comes up.
I hope to be able to enjoy adventuring with some amazing people, characters, and stories soon. Thank you for your time.
