Tacaea has been living in a time of peace for 15 years now. The conflict in the east, created by the water sprites rebelling against the state, has finally passed and now the lands have reached a state of unity. The people of Tacaea live well, and in this time of peace businesses have been nothing but profitable. At a glance it looks like everyone is living a fantastical life. Though for anyone looking to find work it's another story. Mercenaries, Bounty Hunters, and Adventurers fight over jobs put out by the government. The people of the Elemental planes are denied citizenship and find a hard time existing in the material. The "time of peace" advertised by the government's charities, parties, and general disposition is a farce. Sure for those born into the right circumstance it may seem perfect. But for anyone not born of the material or people in the business of dirty work fight everyday just to put food on the table. Work is hard to come by these days, but fortunately an ad fell into your hands, a job, incredibly well paying from some mysterious investor. A man named A. Flame put out a posting for a long term job offer that had most people stunned by the offer. But for some reason out of the immense amounts of offers he had he only accepted a handful of people. The Ad Read:

"To whom may be interested, here is a proposal: a research expedition. A simple job with minimal requirements. You will be expected to leave your pre-established life for close to six months, possibly more if the job requires it. Combat experience is not required though it is encouraged.

Now for the job. Since my youth I have been fascinated by the realm of Eternal Flame, the Elemental plane of fire and it's touch on our country has been a foothold in the nations history for millennia. Tacaea has always been touched by the elemental powers of other planes, but we have the most records of the Fire Plane, yet the plane itself has never clashed with the material unlike the rest. It has caught my attention, and I am ready to fund an expedition to take notes and recover artifacts from five ruins thought to be from the fire plane. These artifacts are to be returned to me and any notes taken returned to my possession as well. Though any items evaluated and determined to not be of any importance to my research will be returned to your possession, and will be yours to keep.

Hi Everyone reading my name is Juice or Grant, and welcome to my little silly campaign!
For some background on me: I've been playing dnd for several years now and have finished one long term game earlier this year and am now ready to dive back into it.

The plan for this game's start is for a 4-5 player game and we're starting at level 4 with one rare magic item.
We'll be only using DnD 5e content, nothing from 2024's new dnd.
Sessions are Tuesdays at 8pm CST.

Things To Consider

We're looking for people whose timezones match with ours. This is American Timezones such as PST, MDT, CST, and EST.

This is going to be a heavily narrative game with lots of roleplay. Combat will be included but a lot of this is going to be about how your characters interact in this world. Think about that before making a character purely built to do one specific combat thing.

New players are very welcome, I think this should be a pretty welcoming environment but keep in mind that existing players are experienced and if that would overwhelm you this may not be the game for you.

Games are on Tuesdays every week at around 8 pm CST start times and can last usually up to 12 am. They vary on occasion depending on when everyone can show up. I do not run games unless all players are present so keep in mind how your availability will affect the games run time before joining.

The reason I am extending this game out is in an attempt to find new people. Existing players are already a part of a bigger dnd friend group with consistent activity. The hope is to make new friends through this game and hopefully have you/them in future games.

We play on discord and use dnd beyond for all games!

I interview people who are interested before they join just to figure out vibes and try to get to know potential players better.
