Game: home brew D&D 5e 2024 rules Group preferred: Online Experience: newish, I have run successful one shots but never a successful campaign so I'm looking to change that. Time: 7pm Thursday Central standard time Through: Discord and dnd beyond, will use dnd beyond above vtt. about the Game: This is a homebrew setting I have been working on for about a year. I've ran a few game in the setting but none really got past session 10. The setting is high fantasy with the plot revolving around druids and necromancers being at odds with each other. The game will be extremely role play and story focused although there will be combat as well. I would prefer not to have new players since I'm still trying to get a handle on DMing and I don't think I can teach while trying to DM. The plot will be slightly darker leaning but I can adjust to player comfort. goofy characters are fine but joke characters won't quite fit. The game may become bi-weekly depending on how busy I get with life but I'm shooting for weekly. LGBT friendly, no IRL racism, safety tools will be used, etc.
here's a basic over view of the setting:
Pahee is a continent comprising nine countries. These nine regions were once drastically different, each with its own separated cultures. However, as Inhisgu, a large central capital, was established and began regulating trade, many of the countries started to change. As products and services became more openly accessible to outside groups, proper institutions were established to aid in these exchanges.
To the east, in the country of Eido, a similarly large trading center was constructed that held no power over the mostly self-governed groups within the forests. To the west, colleges of learning were built, and deans regulated the flow of information in and out of the swamps. In the north, warlords fought for control of the rocky mountainous land and ultimately settled into a theocracy. In the south, nomadic clans established rules for when to meet and resolve conflicts within the grasslands. Today, each of the nine regions has a trading capital. While conflicts still arise between the regions, a loose agreement has been reached not to interfere with other regions' operations.
Most countries have their own forms of government, finance, leadership, customs, and ways of living, which, while exchanged, often result in disagreements. The capital of the continent, Inhisgu, is a neutral region run by a leader elected by the rulers of the other countries. It is a city-state that has blended these cultures for centuries. Inhisgu also regulates the major roads connecting each capital and several key cities. These roads are consistently populated and wide, allowing entire civilizations to operate along them without ever residing in just one country.
Trade, not just of goods but also of people, is the most influential aspect of life in Pahee. Each capital has a color associated with it. Known as the city color, this hue often symbolizes the country as a whole and can also represent its people. Teachers sent abroad may wear only black to signify their affiliation with Lusi colleges, while poets from Ome might wear only pink. Someone dressed head to toe in red can be assumed to be from Sarih, the red city. This color is usually marked on items to symbolize their origin and is also used to stamp documents for authentication in travel or shipment. Inhisgu, being a melting pot, is known as the rainbow city.
I am also interested. I have 7+ years of 5e experience, some time with older editions and other systems. I am East Coast US so the day and time work well for me.
