Game D&D 5.24 Dragon Heist Investigation with some Horror.
Group Online, Discord and VTT Tale Spire (Don’t worry if you don’t have Tale Spire).
DM Experience 6 years DMing D&D and various other TTRPGs. Generally Story focused.

Game Style
Please read and ensure that this is a campaign suitable for your play style.
No sexual harassment.
PHB/DMG 2024 Rules only.
Don’t try to break the game.
Smart players not smart characters.
Know what your character can and can’t do (eg Spell limits).
No Flying species.
No Double Dash. Dash as an Action or BA, not both. (It takes away from characters with higher movement speeds and a VTT map is only so big).
(I don’t care what Jeremy Crawford wrote in a Tweet).
Min Max is okay, no broken characters.
No multiclassing
Short rest is allowed during an adventure. (BG3 style, after an encounter, up to 2 per short rest).
Long rest is part of downtime. (Long Rest during an adventure disrupts game/story flow).
No damaging cantrips. For Classes or Species. (Lower magic campaign)
No Warlocks (Doesn’t suit the story line).
Back story is recommended. Friends, Family, Opponents. Leave holes to be filled.
Bastions and downtime. (Starting at level 1 because this DM want’s to learn the rules).
HP max out at level 5. (The HP limit is in case the campaign continues. Excessive HP can make combat a drag for everyone).
NPC’s will be scaled up and down with occasional minions rules.
Some monsters will be given new game mechanic powers. (These mechanics will be pre determined during planning and not made up on the fly. The aim is to make combat more interesting).
Encounters will not always be balanced. (Most will be, some will be easy, some will be hard).
No holding back on PC death. Luck of the dice.
Clerics and Paladins should have moral/ethical rules and restrictions. What must you do, what must you not do, what will you not eat, nominate a day of worship (restrictions or actions on what must or must not be done on the day of worship).
Language as a skill proficiency. (There are too many languages for all to be useful).
Group skill checks, Half in, all in.
Describe your critical hits, killing blows and the critical hits on your character. Can be fun to record your battle scars.
Adventure Campaign
Waterdeep Dragon Heist - Investigation. With a lot of side quests. Some Horror. Hopefully with Character story arcs.
Dragon Heist is a level 1-5 campaign. The HP limit is in case the campaign continues.Excessive HP can make combat a drag for everyone.
Be mindful of armor and weapons in cities.
