You and your party have been selected to help develop a small town into a busseling city. Apart from adventuring and completing quests, the party will also juggle managing the town they are assigned to. Random encounters/events will occur on a semi-regular basis.
Your party may encounter a side quest while adventuring, something might happen to the town while the party is away, or even when the party is resting in town. Players will follow an overarching story when they reach higher levels.
Players will begin the campaign at lvl 4 following the 2024 D&D 5e ruleset. (If players wish to use something outside of the rules, I can possibly make an exception.) Each time the players level up they will go up by 2 levels. All players will start off with their choice of 3 uncommon magic items and other adventuring material.
Level up system is milestone based, completing certain quests or developing the town can lead to leveling up. If the campaign lasts long enough, players can raise their characters past lvl 20. Level cap for the campaign will most likely be 40, but may be raised if needed.
The campaign setting will take place in one of 3 official D&D campaign settings (TBD), and the entire campaign will be hosted online on Discord. New and veteran players welcome. I am willing to allow teenagers into the campaign if I believe they'll be a good fit. I am also open to the campaign being Play By Post as I have experience in both voiced and text based campaigns.
Voiced game sessions would be held weekly or every 2 weeks based on player availability. I will most likely host on the weekends. I am in the PST timezone. If you're interested, please reply to this thread with a brief description of your character, your real life experience with D&D, and if you are a minor.
Player limit will be 4, that might be raised to 6 with enough interest. If you have any questions, feel free to add your questions to your reply.
Hey, I am 17. I've been playing for four years. My character is called Zen WillowHorn. They are druid who are nonbinary, with a more feminine body but many androgynous features. Their dex is quite high, and they are great with animal handling and survival, like a lot of druids. They grew up in a small elf tribe or a druid group in a forest. And they are a wood elf! My discord is calico_wcue
I'm interested but have some questions I'd like to discuss one on one. My idea for a character is an amnesiaic spirits bard dhampir(assuming older DnD 5e content is okay.) who can divine almost everything but his own past. He has more to him than that.
I've been a player and a dm for the past 5 years now. I love the game tremendously and am excited to bring another character to life, assuming I get in! Tysm and hope you have the best of luck with your campaign! My discord is @elegy64
I'm interested, but I would have to know a more specific time to commit. I live in North America and can do Saturday afternoon or evenings, but other times might be available. I would like to know more about the geography around the town before making my character, but I will very likely make a martial character, such as a ranger or monk, and I'm flexible with regards to what species I play. I've been playing D&D since 2019, and I have been eager to try the 2024 rules. I am not a minor.
Information about the geography I'd like to know is: is it near the coast or further inland? Is it in a wooded area or more plains area? Is it on or near a mountain? Is it near a river? There is no wrong answer, it just changes what I might go for with my character.
I have a discord, but I'd rather send it through a private message, and I don't know how to find those on D&D Beyond. Edit: Sent!
Hello! I'm quite interested in this campaign if this is going to be a PbP one! :] I am not a minor, as well as I'm not new to the roleplaying concept itself, however I'm unfamiliar with the DnD system yet; I am a fast learner though!
My character is named Lezit; his first name is unknown. He is a major and was assigned to keep this soon-to-be-a-city town safe. He has a stoic temper, keeping his cool even when performing a necessary cruelty; one might think of a punishment for harming the community. But with people whom he holds dear to his soul, his heart of wood suddenly flourishes, which can cost him a lot if he is to be betrayed by someone close.
I apologize to all who have shown interest for this post. Unfortunately some military obligations came up so I'll have to postpone my current campaign plans

What times are we talking about playing? Adult responsibilities being a limiting factor.
I've played some 2014 5e before under one DM but I still have limited experience. Discord is dominicpaine

Hey, I haven't received any messages yet. Is there any updates on this? Because I'm still interested.
