Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: Face-to-face Experience: New
Im new to D&D in the sense that I haven’t played a true game yet. However, I’d say that I have a fairly good grasp on the rules, action-economy, staying true to character and not meta-gaming, etc.
I got into D&D casually about a year after finding Critical role on twitch. This was near the end of the campaign, but after campaign 1 ended I started at the Briarwood arc and watched/ listened to the whole thing through. While I was rewatching old episodes and the new campaign, I constantly googled all the various checks, saves, spells, and abilities the group used because it all was super interesting to me.
Last month I decided I really wanted to play a campaign of my own after becoming super familiar with the intricacies of the game. I bought the PHB and monster manual and started rolling a few mock characters to get a sense of level progression, etc. I built a few fleshed out backstories to give the characters some real depth, and loved it.
So while I am 100% a D&D noob, I feel safe saying I wouldn’t hold your table back (constantly needed to know what modifiers to add, needing to look over my abilities like crazy every turn, etc). I’m a curious person in general and can promise that I’ll do whatever homework needed to catch up to speed with the group.
Location/Timezone: Orange County, CA. Willing to drive to anyone in the southern LA county region or northern San Diego. If your in LA (West Hollywood area) and play between Friday and Saturday I might be able to make it to you too. Availability: Monday after 8. Otherwise any day after 6. Weekends I’m available any time of day. Preferred role: Player Game style: 24 yr old Male, finishing out Philosophy degree at CSUF. I’m down for whatever, not a picky person, and willing to step out of my comfort zone to match any play style. Really like a solid mixture between RP and Combat (Looking to possibly try a characters voice, etc if the group is doing them).
