Game: D&D 5.5. Using 2024 rules. Group type: Online. We use Discord for voice chat, scheduling, and text chatter and Roll20 for our VTT needs. Experience: This campaign has been running, with seasonal resets, since 2015. Location/Timezone: We have players from many different regions, but session start times tend to be early afternoon to evening CST/EST. Schedule: We run 2-3 sessions a week, typically. Roles sought: Players and DMs both needed (though every DM is also a player). Looking for a few new people.
Game style: This is a West March. For those who don't know what a West March is, a brief explanation:
A standard campaign has a set weekly time, set players, and a set DM. A West March is more of a D&D community, they can vary in size anywhere from ten to hundreds of people. Ours is fairly close knit, with around 30 people. A West March has multiple DMs, a pool of players, every DM is also a player, and no hard set schedule. Sessions occur whenever a DM feels like running and has enough available players, all within a shared setting.
The advantage to this sort of campaign is that you don't have to commit to a weekly block of time, and the campaign isn't going to fall apart because you aren't able to play for a time. For people who have difficulty finding a reliable group (because online D&D players are flaky as hell), this might be the solution to that.
Campaign Information: This year the campaign setting is on a dangerous backwater continent that has far less civilization present than the more developed parts of the world. Every player is a member of an old mercenary guild that was once famous and prominent, but slowly slid into irrelevance. The guild, the Adamantine Assembly, is struggling to get back some of its former glory piece by piece. In short, the theme is rags to riches. Though there's a collective goal, players are obviously able to have their own personal motivations and goals that may or may not align perfectly with the guild.
Current starting level is 5th, and we welcome anyone with an interest in roleplaying with us so long as you aren't a jackass. We are happy to introduce new people to the hobby, so if you have zero experience feel encouraged to message me!
If you are interested in joining, DM me on Beyond or message me on Discord, my tag is: captainpandabear1
Sent you a Friend Request on Discord. I have a little experience in IRL gameplay but I've never played online or in a west march campaign. Super eager to play, hopefully you guys are still looking for players
