Legends & Lore is a roleplay-focused D&D community built by and for mature adults (30+)—the kind balancing careers, families, pets, and too many hobbies, but still making space for storytelling, creativity, and real connection.
We’re not a West Marches server. We don’t do random matchmaking. What we do is take our time getting to know one another—because we believe the best D&D experiences come from genuine bonds and shared trust, not just a shared game schedule.
We go by real names, chat throughout the day, swap pet pics, talk cosplay, 3D printing, work, life—you name it. Some of us play in live games, others enjoy play-by-post. And we regularly host non-D&D hangouts like in character trivia nights and Jackbox game nights, because sometimes the best memories happen between sessions.
🛠️ Our Membership Process
To make sure the fit is right on both sides, we follow a simple but meaningful four-step process:
Interview – A relaxed conversation with Quentin and Sary to get to know you and your playstyle. Community Intro – You'll spend time in the server chats getting to know us as people - and we you. Game Trial – you’ll be invited to join a session so we can get a sense of your roleplay style, table presence, and overall vibe with the group. Full Membership – If everything clicks, you’re welcomed in fully with access to all current and future games!
🧩 How We Play
🕗 Games run on weeknights from 8–11pm Central, ideal for players across North American time zones 💬 Daytime chat stays active, especially among those working at a desk 📜 Play-by-post campaigns are available for asynchronous storytelling 🌱 Weekends are intentionally quiet, so members can rest, recharge, and enjoy other hobbies 🎥 We use voice and cameras via Discord in all live sessions and hangouts—because seeing and hearing each other builds stronger friendships
✨ Squire’s Forge: Learn, Grow, Belong
New to D&D or returning after a long break? Squire’s Forge is our mentorship program designed to help newer or rusty players ease into the game with the full support of our community. You don’t have to be an expert to join us—just a good person with a good attitude who’s ready to learn and connect.
📅 Current Projects
🏰 Heroes’ Quest – Weekly dungeon crawling and exploration in Mystara 🎓 Greyskull U – A pun-packed one-shot series inspired by 80s cartoons and pop culture 🌲 Echoes of the Past – A play-by-post story set in Thundertree before its fall
🔮 In Development
🎶 The Lost Song of Morning – A heartfelt, folklore-inspired campaign set in Humblewood 🕯️ The Madness Beneath – A noir mini-series blending cosmic horror and investigation ⚡ Valed Intentions – A stylish, high-stakes two-part Eberron heist 🌫️ Mists of Meluthien – A Ghibli-inspired mini-adventure through a fading forest full of wonder and memory
🧭 Now Recruiting: 1 DM
We’re currently looking for one more Dungeon Master to run a weekly campaign (any night but Tuesday). You’ll never have to search for players alone—we’ll help you find your perfect table within a community that’s already invested.

Legends & Lore – Come for the story, stay for the friends. 🎲❤️
Hey there! I'm Sary—Mistress of the Flame over in Legends & Lore.
I'm here to keep the fire burning… metaphorically speaking. That means community building, monthly hangouts, birthday shoutouts, spontaneous celebrations, and generally making sure our little corner of the TTRPG world stays warm, kind, and a little chaotic in the best way.
I’ve been a part of this community-building world for a while now, and when I came to DDB, I was looking for more than just a game. I wanted connection. A space where people could show up as they are, roll some dice, and maybe make a few friends along the way.
Outside of this group, I work in nonprofit leadership, run a nerdy little shop (named after my cat), and pour a lot of love into storytelling. I'm a player, a DM, a forever character creator, and someone who genuinely believes that TTRPGs are one of the great forms of collaborative magic.
Our group is all about roleplay-first storytelling with players who care just as much about the scene, the vibes, and the slow character reveals as they do about the combat. We’re here for the long haul, exploring characters who are messy, complicated, funny, noble, or not-so-noble… but always human (or, you know, tiefling, goblin, elf, etc.).
We have space for thoughtful players who are in it for the story, the camaraderie, and the world-building. If that sounds like your thing, tell me about you. I’d love to hear what brings you to the table.
And if you’re lucky... the Flamekeepers might even roast a marshmallow in your honor. 🔥

Legends & Lore – Come for the story, stay for the friends.
Following up on Sary’s recent post—our Mistress of the Flame and the heart behind so much of our community life—I just want to take a moment to talk about the kind of space we’re building here at Legends & Lore.
Thanks to Sary and her team of Flamekeepers, we’re not just running games—we’re building a place that feels warm, welcoming, and full of joy. From monthly hangouts and birthday shoutouts to spontaneous celebrations and inside jokes, we’re leaning into the kind of connection that makes this more than just a server. It’s a community.
And through programs like Squire’s Forge, we’re not just supporting new or returning players—we’re walking alongside them as they grow into confident storytellers. Soon, we’ll even be launching a dedicated space for RP practice and character exploration, where members can try out new concepts, hone their voice, or just casually banter in character. (Name announcement coming soon!)
At the end of the day, Legends & Lore was built by and for the 30+ crowd—people with full lives who still want a creative outlet, meaningful friendships, and a place where their voice matters both in and out of game.
If that sounds like the kind of corner of the TTRPG world you’ve been looking for, we’d love to meet you.

We’re Legends & Lore, and we’re all about storytelling, laughter, and keeping the fire warm for whoever needs it. Some of us are forever DMs, some are brand new players, and some are just here for the vibes. You’d fit right in.
And hey... if you’re even a little curious, we’ve got the perfect chance for you to check us out:

Hey there! I saw your posts and I have to say, what a breath of fresh air. I have been looking for a more mature, RP-Centric Long Campaign for what feels like forever. Signed up for the Pro version of Roll20 only to never be picked for games. Own most of the sourcebooks across dndbeyond, roll20, and physical, and can't find a game to save my life.
I started DMing, having never actually played a PC in more than a one-shot, for my family, just to test out all the nifty gizmos and gadgets on Roll20. I spent days, poring over the VTT, assigning tokens, fiddling with the terrible character sheets (compared to DNDBeyond), writing my own homebrew to supplement the Waterdeep Dragon Heist campaign I'd been watching for months on the Youtubes, only to find out... well, we're older now and my wife hated the VTT and attempted to derail my every carefully laid plan, and her dad, (who never played before) just prefer the TT physical, theater of the mind style from the days of yore. And frankly, so do I... lol
Anyway, I'm kinda writing a tome. (I am an author by trade) But dangit, I'm just looking for a group of mature fans of DND, who share my love of the IDEA of the game, and would love nothing more than to show me how I'm playing it wrong (like my beloved wife).
I'll stop here, but you said you wanted to get personal in your post. So dude, I'm desperate. Put me in coach... Friend requests sent in discord - I'm CrypticAgentX
Hello! I just sent you a friend request to both of you. I'm MarMarMarls. I'm very interested in joining Legends & Lore, it sounds exactly like what I've been looking for. I've been playing D&D for about 4 years, mostly as a DM for a group of students at the school I teach at (I'm a high school social studies teacher). I've been a player in several games on Discord and, even though they were fun while they lasted, they were impersonal and I was usually the oldest one playing (I'm going to be 31 in July).
