The end of an Era, the jagged summit of a golden age has dawned and come to its great climax. Years of peaceful prosperity has led to a steady lull that has given the world a sense of security, the beasts and atrocities that plagued the lands have been slain, the dungeons and quests cleared. It was peaceful, serene, and horrendously unnatural. No one could deny that, too much order was a poison all its own, leading to the stagnation of progress and heroes alike. For 100 long years of prosperity, Oracles, Far Seers, Sky Readers and all the like swearing that the gods would re-balance the world. Re-tip the scales to balance, forewarning that such and event would be pure chaos, uttering the same almost rehearsed line. "When the scales tip back to the tides of chaos, the world will dip into a a dark age like no other.". If only they knew how right they where.
But that has little to do with you, right? You just took on a new job, picking up a term with one of the roaming caravan companies to line your pockets with the decent little payout for guarding several carriages worth of improved goods. A single month long journey to travel from the coastal city of Gormount, to the regional capital Arkadia. A world renowned city of innovation, and international trade. 100 shiny gold pieces upon hiring, and another 500 once you arrive at Arkadia. All you have to do is ride along side, or steer a carriage. Simple enough isn't it?
Hello, I'm a 12 year veteraned Dm, and I hope you've got some interest in my campaign, I'm looking to run this as a long term, story and character driven plot. Sundays Weekly 6 to 10pm EST. Discord for voice, roll 20 VTT.
If you think you'd be a good fit then I encourage you to reply to this post, or send me a message on discord (A1saucenOnIt)

Hi! I am definitely interested in this type of campaign. It sounds fun!
Name: Bell
Age: 27, soon to be 28
Pronouns: They/Them
Timezone: MST/MDT
Experience: I have played for around 12 years now, mostly as a player. I have DMed a few times, but I do prefer to be a player. I have been with the same group for 10 years and as much as I love them, I would like to expand my groups! I am in one on Friday, and have been looking for a weekend one for a while now. I've played through each class, and have expanded into third party content as well. I'm just here to have fun, meet new people, and create a fantastical story! The world you have sounds intriguing, and I would love to learn more (my dnd beyond account is only brand new because I lost the email my original account was attached to and decided not to deal with that hassel).
Character Idea/Ideas: As of right now, I do not have any! Well, not entirely true--there's a few ideas tumbling around my brain, but I would prefer to know more about the world more! Something I like to do when creating characters is to make them fit the world, rather than trying to make a pre-existing idea fit somewhere it doesn't mesh.
I defintely have my own questions about the campaign/play styles, and other things, but I'll wait to ask those until (if) I hear from you!
This sounds great! I was looking for a grittier setting that was more world/rp focused and this sounds just like it.
Age- 22
Pronouns- He him
Timezone- PST (UTC -7)
Experience- None. I'm hoping the group can help me a bit on learning the mechanics and how roll20 works.
Character Idea/Ideas- I would love to learn more about the world and other party members so my character can fit it. I had an idea for a vengeance paladin+rogue who is a lawful good cloak and dagger character, for a character like that I would like a long standing grudge/villain to seek out and to be maneuvering through cities where disguises are necessary, (and need a good party.) If the party wants to take a more neutral/evil direction I may consider something like a sorcerer or warlock.
I sent a friend request on discord, (@rollthrow.) Please do fill me in on the world so I can start imagining a character straight away.
Im not sure which race is creatable in the world you control. But I’d like them to have dark vision minimum and I want to be the most dependable team mate as possible.
Experience- I've been playing for about two years!
Character Idea/Ideas- I'm looking to play a Divine Soul Sorcerer Aasimar character - I've played him before but I'm looking to take a new route with him.
Character Idea/Ideas- Hubrek Blackfire / dwarf fighter/smith -
The Blackfire Forge has stood for over a millennium, a testament to the craftsmanship of the Dwarves, producing some of the finest armor and weapons known to history.
Its name reflects the unique black hue of its flames, born from a fragment of a meteorite that fell from the sky more than 1,000 years ago. This celestial piece fuels the forge's exceptional heat, creating unparalleled masterworks.
Yet, in recent years, those flames have begun to flicker, and many fear the forge may face its final hour.
But Hubrek, unwilling to accept such an end, embarks on a mission fueled by determination. He delves into ancient Dwarven texts, recounts treasured family lore, and seeks the wisdom of elders, all driven by the hope of reigniting the forge's legacy.
Experience- About 6mos of a Tomb of Annihilation campaign, a bunch of one shots, have played Planescape: Torment, all 3 Baldur's Gate games (tho I haven't finished a single one *shrug*) and a decent amount of Neverwinter Nights. Does a brief stint in the very old (preNeverwinter) DnD mmo count?
Character Idea/Ideas- I got 3. One, possibly a water Genassi tempest or war cleric (or variant human). Another, some sort of trap disabling rogue, or maybe make up a monk that can do that and fight. I usually do a Gloomstalker, and if I did ranger, depending on the type of campaign, might go for one with a dog if we need to sniff for clues and not super be into fighting. It also depends on what version of DnD we are playing.
Experience - Sampled a campaign in University but it fell through after 3 sessions
Character Idea - Tiefling Paladin with Lawful,Neutral. Has hero background, starting from humble means seeking their own path to fortune/fame. As the world shifts back into chaos starts to find any means necessary to get by. (Willing to work with ideas) but rustic hospitality perks. Skilled in survival, insight, persuasion. Darkvision and Divine sense.

Order Cleric/Battle Master fighter.
He is a Half Orc inspired by the orcs in middle earth shadow of war. I literally used their naming system for him.
He is a drill master in the military who's primary function is getting the most out of his allies in combat and acting according to his gods tenants.
I have a certain playstyle in mind and I have some homebrew equipment that I would like feedback on, but its not required.
