No, never ---------------------- Roleplay & Combat Mix: 60-70% Roleplay / 30-40% Combat Number of Players in game & needed: Have 1 player, need 3-4. Character starting level & equipment: 1st level, Recommended class starting equipment or roll randomly for starting gold from Player's Handbook's equipment chapter + character background equipment. Character restrictions: Only core races and classes from the Player's Handbook and Xanathar's Guide to Everything are allowed (and gnomes are not allowed). Please do not bring in an already created character or backstory. Everything needs to start from scratch. ---------------------- Details of the scenario: You were born in the Arcaian Empire, a decadent society ruled by corrupt elven mages where the use of arcane magic is normalized and in the more civilized areas has woven itself into a common technology. A magic-tech war between elves and dwarves was just settled. The dwarves lost horribly and most have shuttered themselves up in their mountain homes. Five Great Houses jockey for power as society hinges on collapse and an arcane rot threatens to engulf the world. Powerful nobles and malicious factions strive to outmaneuver one another, caring little for those left to pick up the pieces. Does your party have the strength and fortitude necessary to overcome the awesome powers opposed to their efforts? Will they find the right allies in time?
The campaign focuses on the Lost Mine of Phandelver plot as an outline but is heavily modified to fit my homebrew campaign world and includes some room for character development, relationships, plot, and a little intrigue. Once the module is concluded, the campaign will fully expand into my homebrew world, reaching across the various empires and kingdoms at odds with one another. This is a brand new campaign and everyone will be starting from the beginning at Level 1. My homebrew campaign world has existed for the 32 years that I have spent GMing, beginning with 1st Edition D&D, spanning across most iterations of the game (4th Edition and the most recent 2024 5th Edition ruleset being the exceptions). Syrinscape and Kenku.fm bot will be used for sound effects, music, and ambience. All levels of experience are welcome. Because of the role-playing emphasis, character level growth and advancement through dungeons tends to be slow as greater attention is placed on character development, relationships, and story/plot. Group will be using Fantasy Grounds for the VTT component and Discord for voice. Players must have a reliable PC, good microphone with no background noise, and a friendly attitude. Must be willing to be patient with players new to D&D and new to Fantasy Grounds. Responding to direct messages from me and paying attention to information in our Discord is required. There are a few campaign rules that all players must agree to as well as some house rules. Must be over 18.
Hello! I am interested. I am 25 y/o. I have prior experience with D&D playing some one-shots and a long term campaign that unfortunately got cut short after a year and a half. If you’re still looking for players, I’d love to join. Add me on discord: AirDubzy
