I'm a player who got bit by the bug at the start of COVID and am in-between groups right now. I'm currently only available from 5 PM to 10 PM, Eastern Time.
I've mainly been involved in campaigns that are combat-heavy, however, I am eager and able to explore other aspects of the game. I don't have a favorite species or class, but do prefer to make a character to fill gaps I see in the party.
I try to be outgoing and part of the group. All I really ask is that you make an equal or greater effort, as socializing doesn't come easy to me, especially to a group of strangers.
Other than that, my only request is that I can't afford to pay to play, so paid games are something I can't do.
Feel free to message me here or add me on Discord: namey_mcnameface
If you’re looking for a friendly and flexible space to enjoy D&D without the pay-to-play barrier, you might really enjoy The Nexus. We’re an 18+ online D&D 5e community hosted on Discord, and we run a unique Westmarch-style setup: your character explores a network of distinct homebrew worlds, each run by different DMs, all connected through a central hub.
Most sessions are one-shots, but some DMs run short arcs too—perfect if you're in between long campaigns but still want something meaningful. With your weekday evening availability (5–10 PM Eastern), you’d have no trouble finding games, as we have a globally spread DM team running games across all time zones.
We use the 2014 5e rules, allow all official sources, and start characters at level 3 with a boosted 35 Point Buy. No level cap, but we cap proficiency bonus at +10 to keep things balanced while still allowing for fun and creative builds. It’s a zero-cost community focused on storytelling, accessibility, and making it easy to jump into games when you can.
If you’re open to a welcoming online space with a healthy mix of roleplay and combat—where you can take part without pressure and grow your comfort in a group—check us out on the forum here. We'd love to have you.
