In the beginning, black, infinite primordial nothing reigned supreme, with only the waters of Azu, the infinite primordial ocean, existing beneath. For an age,,whether it was for a thousand years or a billion, nobody knows, this was all that existed. Then, from the abyss, the gods emerged and started shaping the world. They created the ground so that their creations would have somewhere to live, and the air so that they would have something to breathe. They placed mountain ranges, created deserts, spawned civilizations, and led them to war, each trying to pursue their own individual goals. Eventually, they distanced themselves from the world, leaving the realm to the mortals, only interacting with it infrequently, via champions, avatars, and demigods.
This campaign is what is known as a Godstein game, where we begin the game acting as gods who create the world using our powers to shape the terrain, create civilizations, explore the world, found settlements, go to war, find artifacts, among many other things. Later on, it will transition to a regular DND 5e campaign with adventurers. They can be a demigod, a paladin, a cleric of one of the gods, or just a normal adventurer. Once every 4 sessions, the gods (still played by you) will come together and, through schemes and diplomacy, decide to perform a divine action on the world to fulfill their objectives. (Here is a short document with a little more detail about the premise. There are a few minor changes from the things states there, particularly that we will NOT be using 1:1 timekeeping, but that is the overall idea of how this is going to work.) The game will take place Thursday evenings
