Hello, I'm Brad (he/him) I'm a professional theatre technician and DM. I'm looking for like minded players without schedule conflicts to fill our team for some out-of-the-book Saturday morning D&D.
Artists and Improvisors are preferred. I want imaginative and self starting players who can "yes, and..." their way in or out of any situation with an ensemble cast.
Table manners - NO sexual aggression or violence - NO racial aggression or violence - NO gender aggression or violence
My table is open to people who are cool with others as they are and as they express themselves. Hate of any kind is not tolerated. Good vibes only - If for any reason a player is not the right fit, they will be removed from the group. I'm not a peer mediator, I don't hang out with people I don't like, and neither should you
I play D&D 5e 2014. If you, like me, think WotC has enough money and do not want to upgrade your book collection, this is the place for you.
Currently playing: **The Sinister Secrets of Saltmarsh** - Seafaring themed dungeons with elements of dark fantasy and eldritch horror - Your favorite pirate movie meets Lovecraft
We are a group of 2 players and myself. We're only on episode 4 and at level 3 so far. New players will participate in a session 0 with me one-on-one before getting into game play. Game time is Saturdays 9 am to 12 pm Pacific time weekly. I start with a player recap of last episode, character question of the day, and then get into play. We'll have two 10 minute breaks each episode.
I use Discord for video and voice calls, and for organizing game info. **I won't accept players who don't want to use their cameras.** This is an interactive game, not a podcast, I want to see your beautiful face. Discord is also my only means of communication with you. I expect you to check for updates at least once per week outside of game time.
Tech savvy and experienced online players preferred. This is a digital game that uses digital tools. You must be familiar with your character sheet and how to make rolls on the VTT. My pet peeve is playing tech support and repeating instructions. I use Foundry VTT for maps, tokens, character sheet management, and full 5e compendium. Experience with Foundry is preferred, but not mandatory. I provide instruction and videos on using the program.
Hello again, I'm Brad. Now that I've gotten the strict stuff out of the way, a bit about myself: I love theatre and the performing arts. I dabble in graphic arts inasmuch as my hobby requires. I'm a writer and improvisor and actor. My first character was a bard, can you tell? I grew up on video games from Super Nintendo thru all the PlayStation generations. I love the cinematic interactive storytelling of video games. I started playing D&D in 2020, but I was always the type of kid who *would* play D&D. So now, as an adult I get to be a kid again. If this resonates with you, if you were a weird nerdy kid in the arts and you just want to spend a few hours on Saturday mornings playing some D&D in a safe space, let me know.
If you've read this far, thank you! If you skipped this far, shame. Reply below and answer the following questions for consideration! - what's your name and preferred pronouns? Tell me about yourself as a player and artist - what's your favorite class(es) to play? Tell me an epic story about one of your characters - what was *my* first character I played? - pitch to me a character design you want to play

Seerfi (also my discord handle) and They/She! I'm an artist *and* a gamer, so I can relate to the love of cinematic storytelling! Baldur's Gate 3 is still to date one of my most favorite RPGs, I'm considering getting Divinity 2 because I want another rpg to play that can match the same feeling of playing it! As a player, I tend to do get into the performance with a character voice, get theatrical with it! I was a theater kid so I apply the skills I learned there to DnD. Overall, I tend to be a laidback person out of game. I love theories, I love making them even more if it comes down to political intrigue, odd adventures, and whatever else that comes up.
- what's your favorite class(es) to play? Tell me an epic story about one of your characters
Casters and half casters! Which makes up a good bit of the classes, evidently, however I do primarily love druids. They're a fun and versatile class who can be pretty tanky or amazing support- even better when you want to have a mix of great healing and great dmg output! But that's combat reasons, I love druids mostly because there's something fun about playing the weird, recluse hermit that is now plopped down into an urban city and does not know whether to be disgusted, perturbed, or kind of astonished in the same way you watch a car crash in slow motion. Other than Druids, I do enjoy playing Paladins, Bards, Clerics, and Sorcerers! You will never catch me on Artificer though.
- what was *my* first character I played?
A bard! I played a Tiefling College of Spirits bard, it was my first time getting involved in-person with some people from the DnD club at my college- it was mostly a series of one shots that were unrelated but the first one I played in was fun, I really loved her. She's got a special place in my heart, especially because she was my first dip into roleplaying in person and doing character accents, but I never got to expand on her own personal story since it was just a series of one shots. She was just a face for the party, a stereotypical sassy and quippy bard. She had her own flaws, but she was still great.
- pitch to me a character design you want to play
Ok! So, I haven't gotten around to designing her character yet BUT- the idea is a Simic Hybrid character by the name of Saznari, background is Faceless. Meanwhile the class is Rogue, I think I'll go for the Swashbuckler subclass since- y'know. Pirate. Swashbuckler. It fits. But anyway! The spin I wanted to put on the Faceless background is that over time, Saznari begins to adapt to the personality traits of the people around her, even copying some of their mannerisms. Due to the fact she has lost her own sense of identity since the incident that had left her dumped in a small field, presumed dead after she had been experimented on. It's how she's pieced together her sense of self after she lost everything, she's rebuilt herself as a blade-for-hire around Saltmarsh's docks. Her easy smile and demeanor mark her as that typical charmer, a sweet and silver-tongued thing who might find her fingers slipping to your pockets every now and then. She's learned to lean into the persona- the mysterious sellsword with the uncanny reflexes and the silver tongue. Her work varies: protecting merchant vessels from pirates, diving for lost cargo in depths that no one else can reach, or serving as muscle for captains who don't ask too many questions. She's always ready for a contract. Chaotic Good alignment, because despite everything that's happened to her- she cares for people she'll become close to, the crews she's spent a small time with, she would go to hell and back for them if she could.
I should (hopefully) have some art of her ready later!
