“They say the city was once painted gold. Now it’s rust and blood. You don’t make it here by being lucky. You make it by being needed.”
Looking to try D&D for the first time or still figuring things out?
This is a campaign made for story-first players who want to explore roleplay, character choices, and teamwork — not just battles and loot. Set in a gritty fantasy city filled with secrets, corruption, and criminal dealings, Lord of the Painted Hour is all about building a crew, finding your place, and surviving together.
This isn’t a joke game or chaotic anything-goes session — it’s about building a story you care about, even if you’re brand new.

Name: Callum Ward, Human Fighter Backstory: A retired city guard who was pushed out after speaking up about corruption. Now working odd jobs and keeping his head low, he’s trying to stay clean — but the streets don’t forget. Quiet, dependable, and fiercely protective of those he trusts. Role in the Crew: The muscle with a conscience. The one who doesn’t say much, but always has your back.
Hello, I am belroF (same as my discord tag) I would love to join this campaign my pronouns are he/him. The characters I enjoy playing are usually those with a tough outer shell but a soft mushy inside such as a hardened warrior with battle scars who secretly runs a kitten adoption center.
Name: Teldor, Fire Genasi Divine Soul Sorcerer Backstory: A sorcerer who never really found his calling in destruction or harming others, instead he chose to be a pseudo-cleric and help those that couldn't help themselves whether it be by healing or a little bit of violence. Role in the Crew: The healer who can also dish out some punishment when need be.
Im a beginner in all of this and would love to learn discord: arkoz Pronouns: he/him I like to play characters that can heal others or someone who is just friendly, I also would like to try playing an archer
Character Idea: I would be playing Tarin Makoa who is a half elf, druid who has always been looking for a reliable place and job to stay since everytime she has been getting jobs where everyone is rude and backstabs him. Role: Your friendly teammate who will always help you out no matter the situation
I enjoy a wide variety of characters, recent characters I have played include a Circle of the Sea Druid, Light Domain Cleric, and Warlock
I'm open to filling in where needed for the party. I've got several ideas written up for Bard, Monk, Barbarian, as Sorcerer as needed but also willing to explore additional options. I have played DnD since the late 90s/early 2000s but took a long break and have been getting back into the game in the last year.
Looking forward to learning more about the campaign.
What kind of characters you usually enjoy: new to dnd
A simple character idea you’d want to play in a city story : A librarian who fights for the preservation of history. He may have fought too hard when some higher up nobles disagreed with text against their family and may have gotten fired. Now he's a little overweight and wants to get his life back together.
