Hi! I’m a not-really-new but kind-of-new player. I’ve tried to play in two campaigns with friends and DM two campaigns myself, but they all fell off as people got busy and D&D just wasn’t their thing. I did successfully run a one-shot with some friends tho and I’m a very big Dimension 20 fan! Now I’m looking for a play group to join and hopefully make some friends who I can play with long term either in many small games or one long one. Feel free to comment if you’re a player looking for a buddy or a DM looking for a player! Also, if it earns me any brownie points with DMs, I have like 100 characters to choose from and would be happy to play one built for your world, and also I really like building minis and can make them for a party!
Sounds like you've got great energy, solid creative drive, and the kind of enthusiasm that thrives in the right group — and I think The Nexus might be just the place for you.
We’re a global 18+ LGBTQIA+ friendly community that runs daily games across time zones using a unique twist on the Westmarch format — instead of one shared world, each DM runs their own, meaning tons of variety in setting and tone. Whether you're looking to get into a short session, a full arc, or a long-term story, there's always something to jump into. Plus, with your flexible EST evening schedule, you'll find plenty of games that fit.
We use DnD Beyond with content-sharing enabled, and all characters start at level 3 with a generous 35 point buy. We use the 2014 5e ruleset, and while there’s no level cap, we do have a soft cap on proficiency bonus to help balance things — great for creative multiclassers like you with 100 characters ready to roll! Bonus: if you love minis, you’ll definitely find others here who appreciate the craft.
We also offer play-by-post/traditional roleplay formats for more flexible storytelling, and we’re proud to be a newbie-friendly space with a strong focus on supportive, long-term play and collaborative storytelling.
Hello, I am starting a new homebrew campaign in about a week. We play Tuesdays, starting at 9:30 PM EST. The core of the group has been together for years, but we are adding a few new players. It is a paid game ($10 per session). This is to offset my costs and to ensure player engagement.
Game: D&D 5e
Group type: Online/Face to Face
Experience: New-ish?
Location: New York (EST)
Schedule: Mon, Tue, Fri 6:00 PM-12:00 AM
Game Style: Casual, Balanced
