Hi y'all! I'm looking for a new campaign to join to meet new people and have the chance to explore characters I haven't gotten to utilize before/in a long time. I'm looking for a group that is LGBTQIA+ friendly and is open-minded and understanding.
A little about me: I have been playing D&D actively for 5 years now but started my D&D journey 10 years ago, playing in mostly homebrew campaigns, so while I have been playing a long time, I would prefer to classify myself as a more intermediate player. I have also been roleplaying for about 15 years now outside of the D&D/TTRPG space and love to create characters and weave stories together with others. I have played in Curse of Strahd, Icespire Peak, and Waterdeep, as well as Vampire: The Masquerade and the homebrew games I started out in.
Things I'm looking for in a game: I'm pretty open. I do work full time, so am looking for an unpaid game that runs on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, preferably with a start time anywhere between 1pm - 10pm EST, but can be flexible. As stated above, I am looking for a group that is open-minded and kind and am okay with more serious themes that can present in games, but player agency is very important to me. As an adult, I am looking to play with other adults who can handle serious themes but not be crude or offensive.
Characters I have in the bank: I have 3 characters that I've made that I do hope to use one day, but don't have to for a campaign I join if they don't fit with that game. They are an Air Genasi Monk (never chose a subclass), a Half-Elf Fighter with the Chevalier subclass, and a Halfling Paladin, subclass Oath of the Crown.
It sounds like you’d be a wonderful fit for The Nexus, a welcoming and inclusive 18+ LGBTQIA+ friendly D&D community that embraces players of all experience levels, backgrounds, and playstyles.
We run Westmarch-style adventures, but instead of one shared world, each DM runs their own — meaning lots of opportunity to explore a wide range of settings and stories. We're also very player-agency focused, and many of our games explore mature themes with care and respect.
With sessions happening daily across time zones, including weekday afternoons/evenings EST, your availability on Tuesdays and Wednesdays would be easy to match. We’re a free-to-play community and use DnD Beyond content sharing for all players, along with voice-based games on Discord and Play-by-Post for those who enjoy written RP.
You’ll be able to create and run multiple characters at level 3 with a generous 35 Point Buy, so your Fighter, Monk, and Paladin can all find homes in different worlds if you’d like — or you can craft something entirely new.
You can check out our post here for more info and how to get involved. We’d love to have you join us and start weaving stories together soon.
Hope to see you in the Nexus!
