Hello everyone. I'm a longtime DM starting up a new D&D game and I'm looking for players. I’ll be more or less running the pathfinder War of the Crown adventure path using the 2014 5th edition D&D rules.
Game Overview: Great nations proceed at the behest of a select few, and those select few are driven in turn by small things: whimsy, greed, fear, disease, love, or the right knife in the right back. The War for the Crown Adventure Path will take players up and down the length of Taldor and beyond, and while they run their blades through monsters and cast fireball against evil cultists, these champions of Taldor will play the deadliest game of the Taldan arena: politics. The characters themselves start out with little political power. They may be minor nobles, merchants, or even commoners, but their adventures, their associations, and the gratitude of an empress will help them rise to become some of the most important figures in Taldor. They’ll tangle with magical monsters, match wits with senators, and play dirty pool against some of the most skilled spies in the Inner Sea, all to stop the nation of Taldor from collapsing into civil war. If they avert the end of its 6,000 years of history and culture, then maybe, just maybe, they can steer the staunchly traditionalist nation toward the future.
Game Tone: War for the Crown is a campaign that’s heavy on roleplaying and social intrigue. Your characters play James/Jane Bond-type agents who engage in a variety of different missions in support of the crown. The tone is one of action, espionage, and intrigue. The PCs are dashing rogues who sip exquisite drinks in formal clothes one night, only to crawl through the mud and cut down enemies the next. The ultimate goal is to help Princess Eutropia claim her birthright and ascend to the Lion Throne, hopefully without the struggle destroying her good intentions and optimism. There is lots of roleplay for you to engage with the game world more than the game system, fast and meaningful combats with little slog and lots of interesting places and memorable magic items
Game Details: To join you don’t require any D&D experience but you will need a sense of humour, a willingness to roleplay and a commitment to working with your team. If new, I’m happy to help you make a character and learn the rules as we play. We would use DnD Beyond (no purchase necessary) and Discord using the 2014 5th edition D&D rules. We would play either every Sunday from 9 to 11 a.m. EST or every Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. EST. My wife may be playing and she would especially welcome another woman player as the rest of our in-person group are men. Please be 21+ (I’m in my 40s) and LGBTQ friendly. I’ll cap the group size to five players and we’d play any time we had at least three players (plus me) available.
My DM Style: I like roleplay, combat and exploration though roleplay is the part I enjoy the most. My favourite thing about dm'ing is never knowing where the game will go since we all develop it together. I value emergent gameplay in a living world so all of the most important things will happen as we play and everyone has an opportunity to participate. The most important thing is that we all have fun.
What sort of players am I looking for? Those who want the entire group to have fun! Experience not necessary but willingness to work as a team is. No evil or murder hobo characters, no lone wolves or prima donnas. We'll have a session zero to introduce ourselves and plan characters that make sense as a team. Once we get started the world will react to what you do so have fun!
How to express your interest? Contact me via dndbeyond messages letting me know your name and pronouns, whether you'd be available on Sunday mornings or Tuesday evenings (or both), and what experience you have with RPGs (if any) plus your favourite piece of fantasy media - whether its a book, game, TV show or film.
Hey there! I’m Huey, I’ve been DM-ing an in person group for several years now and have run one-shots with different groups. However, I’m dying to play again and I moved away from my in person group and we only play when we can get together (out of a refusal to end a three year campaign online 😂)
Current favorite book is Dawn of Wonder, I love ATLA, and I grew up on LOTR and classic works of fantasy like that. Favorite series right now is a book series titled The Tapestry Series. I’m 25 years old, love the gays, am the gays.
I can do both Tuesdays and Sundays, though Sundays potentially less often since I will have things in the mornings sometimes.
p.s. Are those two times 100% the times we’d meet or is there any flexibility? (I only ask cause weekend evenings are always free for me usually)
I'd like to join you on your D&D, but i am afraid i am too young (-18). In future, I'd love to make my own D&Ds and be new DM. If you're seeing this, I'll be glad for at least reccomending me D&Ds that don't require such high age restriction.
I'll be glad for any response or reaction
(Side note: I'm writing fantasy book about two sisters, who go after the same tressure, starting with their childhood, how they stole bote and met their crews. They explore world and meet dragons, fairies, gnomes but also elves and other creatures)
