Are you new to D&D? Never so much as touched a d20? Don't know what a d20 is fully? Well this is the perfect place for you! My name is Chris, and I am looking for 4 players that I can show D&D to! Of course, I have my ideal players for this, so here's a short list of soft requirements and preferences:
Newish to D&D. I believe that people learn better when others are learning right along with them, like a classroom!
LGBTQIA+? Awesome! I accept all sorts, you won't find judgement here and I will not hesitate to give someone who is hateful the boot.
Ideally, you will have a decent PC, mic, and internet connection. There will be a lot of pauses for rule explanations and such, and I wouldn't want tech issues to add on to that.
Have some kind of knowledge! I know this sounds contradictory, but hear me out. I don't want someone who is kinda iffy about dungeons and dragons. I want players who are EXCITED to play but haven't had the chance to! Listened to a podcast like Dimension 20, Critical Role, Dungeons and Daddies, NADDPOD? Cool! Played Baldur's Gate 3 and always wondered what the actual game is like? Awesome!
Age Requirements: Hate to do it, but I would feel a bit weird hanging out with a bunch of minors. I am 29 myself and I would like to run D&D for other adults!
Have a good sense of humor! I always see D&D as a bunch of friends getting together to pretend to be wizards and stuff. I won't run a deadly serious game, I like to keep it light!
And above all, BE EXCITED AND HAVE FUN!
Now, about the campaign itself! I will be running The Lost Mines of Phandelver, I feel it is a perfect starting adventure for new players that introduces the game in smaller chunks and helps ease in new players! Plus, it takes place in the world of Faerun, with locations such as Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter, things newer players may already have some sort of connection to through outside media! Heck, this starting adventure itself may seem familiar to you if you listened to The Adventure Zone season 1! There will be some mystery, goblin killing, all that fun stuff! If you read this far, the secret passcode is Karlach. Include it in your application for bonus points!
Now lets talk schedule and other nitty gritty stuff. It's gonna be a bit loosey goosey while I gather players and prepare. I will be contacting you on discord if you were awarded the slot, and we will talk character ideas and schedule stuff then! What I sort of have in mind is Saturday evenings, around 6-7pm EST. We will be using Roll20 for battlemaps and such (don't worry, I will help you with that as well), and discord for voice and even video if you'd like!
sent an app. I'm brand new to TTRPGs, but have learned the basics of D&D so I'm not totally ignorant. Having issues finding a game set in Faerun so I hope maybe you're the DM I've been looking for and this sounds like the perfect game to get into so I can learn about playing with a group. I'm available almost all the time, but I do have some things going on until Wends and won't be ready to play until that evening or even Thurs depending on how the day goes. I have a few characters made up and would just need some advice on how I've allotted ability points and generalized stuff I wouldn't know much about without having played the class before.
My end goal is to find a long term campaign set in Faerun with epic storytelling, player side quests and interconnected stories, high stakes at high levels, character growth for the group and a DM that loves to collab with their players to create a rich world where the players/characters have a personal investment. A place where everyone at the table has put time and effort into the growth of the world
Sent app! I started playing at the beginning of the summer, but I'd love to gain more experience and learn a little more about the mechanics of the game.
Just sent an app. Completely new to D&D but willing to learn. I have a character created however I'm more than happy to create a new one if my current one doesn't meet requirements. From your description this sounds like the perfect beginner campaign for me

I am completely new to this game, have almost no idea how to play, hoping to learn.

Wow this is so amazing!! I wish I could join but I would only be available on weekdays! I’ll keep an eye out if you ever host a weekday game!
I also sent an application!
