I'm going to leave the template below, but just to put a little more detail, about what I'd like to get out of playing with other people, is building more than just a campaign, but a community. If that is something you're looking for too, and are willing to be patient with someone who has the theory of the game down, but no measurable experience, feel free to reach out.
I'm happy to work with DMs/groups to build a character to fit into a campaign, or join a new group as well.
Game: D&D 5e Group preferred: either Experience: New Location/Timezone: PNW/Pacific (currently UTC -7 that will change for a few months to UTC -8) Availability: Sundays would be best for in person, but I also know online is more convenient to work around schedules. I'm pretty flexible as far as a schedule goes, just need to coordinate with other people's availability. Preferred role: Player Game style: Since I'm a beginner, casual would probably be best, but like the title says I'm ready to jump in with both feet. Again, as long as you're willing to be patient I'm willing to adapt
Hey BookMouse! Your focus on building community and diving in as a new player sounds like a perfect fit for our group. We’re an 18+ LGBTQAI+ friendly Westmarch-style community, where each DM runs their own world—so there’s a lot of variety, and plenty of opportunities to meet other players and grow alongside them.
All characters start at level 3 with a generous 35 Point Buy, and you can create and play multiple ones. We use the 2014 5e ruleset with all official content shared through DnD Beyond campaign links, making it easy to jump in without needing prior experience in actual campaigns.
We’re a global community with sessions every day, plus Play by Post and text roleplay options, which should work well with your PNW/Pacific Sunday availability, or other times as schedules allow. The community is friendly and supportive, so patience and guidance are always available for newer players learning the ropes.
If that sounds like the kind of place you’re looking for, check us out here.
