It has been two years. Two long years since anyone has seen the sun in the sky. Two long years since any have felt the kiss of it's warmth on their skin. Icewind Dale has been cursed with an eternal winter. The cold has permeated everything and it is all the inhabitants can do to keep alive and the population decreases daily.
The cause? Auril the Frostmaiden. No one knows why she has begun casting a spell that creates an eternal night, but the inhabitants of Ten Towns scramble for ways to appease her wrath so they might survive. But after two long years few hold on to much hope that they will ever see the sun again or even that they will survive for much longer. Leaving Ten Towns is not an appealing option either. They would have to leave behind everything they have in life and the blizzards that rage through the arctic wasteland of Icewind Dale does not offer much salvation. No one that has attempted to leave Icewind Dale has been heard form again...
You are Ten Town's last hope for survival, all that can stand in the way of Auril the Frostmaiden. But how does one confront the will of a god? What long lost secrets, buried deep beneath the ice and snow will you discover while searching for a way to end Auril's reign of terror in the north? The only way to find out is to brave the blizzards of that frozen wasteland, to face the horrors lurking in that eternal darkness. Do you have the courage to save Icewind Dale, and perhaps even the world? Step forth into that darkness, brave soul. Step forth toward destiny...
Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden is level 1-11 campaign that sees the adventures attempt to survive the frozen wastes while searching for a way to end the eternal winter wrought by the Frostmaiden.
