[Online] [5E] [2014/2024] [EST] Sundays 1-5pm EST looking for 1-2 (not first come first serve) want to make sure we are all a good fit.
Hello! We’re a friendly, long‑standing group (1.5-2 years together) looking to add one or two more committed players to our table. We are currently 4 members seeking a fourth or fifth, We’re not selecting on a first‑come basis—our priority is finding a good fit for the group’s vibe and the campaign’s tone.
Schedule and format
- Bi-Weekly on Sundays, 1:00–5:00 pm Eastern
- Must be 18+ and able to attend regularly; we’re semi‑casual and understand that work or life occasionally interferes, but we strive for consistency and clear communication
System and campaign
- D&D 5e using a 2014/2024 mixed ruleset (select 2024 updates alongside 2014 core)
- Homebrew campaign in a homebrew setting
- Current party level: 9; planned campaign end: level 13-17
Setting snapshot:
The party finds themselves entrenched in a fight against an insidious corruption spreading through a vast, untamed forest—an unpredictable expanse of wild terrain dotted with isolated cities and towns. This blight, seeping into the land, is the work of fiends from the abyss, seeking to secure a foothold in the material plane as a prelude to a full-scale invasion. Central to their dark designs are the Heartstones: ancient, elemental relics that the fiends covet to assert dominion over the region. While the party has uncovered the names of these fiendish orchestrators, their whereabouts remain shrouded in mystery, leaving the adventurers to race against time to thwart the abyssal assault before it consumes the realm.
What we value
- A collaborative, respectful table with good communication
- Players who enjoy roleplay, exploration, and tactical moments in a measured, story‑first pace
- Reliability and enthusiasm for a long‑term game
How to apply (not first‑come; we will review applications and may reach out for a brief chat)
Please reply here (or DM if preferred) with:
- Age confirmation (18+ just Yes or No or share age if you want) and your time zone
- Confirmation you can make Sundays 1–5 pm EST consistently
- A short intro about you and your playstyle (what you enjoy at the table)
- Your experience with 5e and comfort with homebrew and a 2014/2024 mixed ruleset
- A character concept or two you’d be excited to explore (no need for a full sheet)
- Anything you need from a group/DM to have fun
We’re excited to meet someone who meshes well with our group’s energy and wants to invest in an exciting, character‑driven campaign. After the Application process, you’ll play in a one shot with the players, and see if you and them still feel it’s a good fit. Then you’ll make your character for the campaign. A backstory tied to the world will be required (detail amount can vary) but it has to be tied to the world so you’re attached to the story. Thanks for reading!
For my play style I prefer to be active. I of course enjoy me some combat, but for RP as long as it feels like things are happening im happy. (Naturally of course there will be times where its just not my scene, im not a spot light hog or main character kinda person.)
Ive been playing D and D since 4e was new, and 5e since it released. 2024 i do own the books and have perused but haven't played with too much. Im comfy with home brew.
Character concepts-
I have a few on the bench.
Maeve- hexblade warlock.
A warlock who would be really strong for this. Abducted by Orcus (cult) as a child almost turned into an undead but was rescued/helped free an Amethyst Dragon he was trying to turn into a dracolich. Ended up swearing a pact to the Raven Queen (Hexblade warlock.)
Valeria: noble born Paladin who has set off to make her own name.
I could also see a barbarian fitting super well, a nice Nordic themed berserker (heard its finally awesome in 2024.)
Im up at 5 my time so the 10am start time is perfect.
My hard lines are the extreme stuff. Child violence (they can die, but let's not get graphic and no torture/r*pe.) Beastiality (druids and use of spells for consent is... acceptable).
SA/R*pe (off screen is fine, and if we can intervene its fine but id rather just not have it.)
Weird trigger, pounding in doors/walls to wake some one up/get their attention. It wont send me into hysterics but it really bothers me (as someone who has lived with that.)
Lore- it depends on the vibe. I generally do like lore, but being a little method can be a lot of fun. For example if I run a barbarian and they dont know squat about the Demon King Gnashial that can be fun tk discover as part of tbe game.
I consider myself a functionalist. Im not going to show up to a table woth Gorgax the God Humbler who is multi classed with 4 different classes and bends the game over his knee. But im also not going to show up with pietro the useless Wizard. My characters are good at what they do.
What is the table politics like? Im a progressive, Im hapy to play with anyone but as someone who prefers making women/Sapphic characters ive ran into some problems with tables not being so happy to play with me.
All those hard lines are fine we don’t touch on any of those topics so that’s good.
As far as the table goes they are all pretty open, various ranges of views but we’ve also not touched on it, we don’t discuss politics etc but life has come up and I’m not to worried about any one belief as long as someone doesn’t force it on them
- Age confirmation (18+ just Yes or No or share age if you want) and your time zone
I am 24 years old and currently in the EST timezone
- Confirmation you can make Sundays 1–5 pm EST consistently
I always have Sundays free, EXCEPT for every other Sunday since I do have another bi-weekly campaign
- A short intro about you and your playstyle (what you enjoy at the table)
My name is Jon and I have been playing DnD for a few years now, I recently got into DnD with online sessions and it's been extremely fun. I am now looking for a group of players that are running a truly immersive and fun campaign. I would love to join a world that has proper structure and if homebrewed, that has the same touch I have seen on really big homebrewed world. As for me, I'm a fairly simple player and as long as the DM can tell a good story and the campaign is interesting, I will invest all my time and resource into the campaign!
- Your experience with 5e and comfort with homebrew and a 2014/2024 mixed ruleset
I have pretty extensive experience when it comes to 5E and most recently, I have become really acquainted with VTTs and many online tools for DnD. I don't have a preference between 2014 or 2024 rules but I do sometimes like a mix of them which allows the players to be extra creative!
- A character concept or two you’d be excited to explore (no need for a full sheet)
1. Rogue | Either Soulknife or Arcane Trickster | Shadar-Kai or some sort of Dark Elf | Masked and Cloaked, hiding his identity from the group. Strong backstory as to how he became a rogue and what or who he is running from.
2. Ranger | Either Beastmaster or Gloomstaker | If Beastmaster, I would like to create a melee ranger with a some sort of land beast to accompany him, would be great for RP. If Gloomstalker, more of a stealthy archer that shoots from the shadows
- Anything you need from a group/DM to have fun
I think my biggest requirement and what would most impress me is good use of a VTT. My most favorite campaign used FoundryVTT and the DM would always display images of what was relevant to the story to help the group visualize it Ex: areas of the map, simple images of the characters, etc.

18+ (37). Pacific standard time.
I consistently have Sundays off.

Hey thanks for the reply!
this is in EST so start time for you would be 10am is that still gonna be ok?
and I love the character concepts all good.
we actually have a barbarian who’s a Viking backstory but he took oath of Wild heart.
i like to ask is there any topics you’d consider a hard no in dnd games? We have our own lines but I like to ask or be sure it’s a good fit.
also sounds like you’ve played a bit, but what’s your experience using DnD beyond for character sheets and your experience I general above level 10?
Would you say your someone that wants to know the lore of the world and setting or just enough to get through the story?
Would you’d say you are more an optimizer in character builds or flavor/story for character ideas?
any more questions you might have for me about the story? The setting? The players? The dm? (Me) anything else?
