Barely a tenday’s march from the bustling city of Yartar, the frontier of the Northern Dessarin Hills conceal horrors enough to freeze the blood of civilized folk. Those who have ventured there or made their livelihood in those hills and forests tell how death comes quickly to the unwary, for the woods at night are far worse than any dungeon.
But you’ve not most. You and your companions have just accepted a job to escort a herd of rare Highbrook Grays from an isolated homestead back down to Yartar. Your party aren’t complete greenhorns when it comes to adventuring, but what you thought was going to be a simple job may just drag you into confronting a looming threat to the entire Dessarin Valley itself.
After all, is it ever just really about some horses?
Join me and your fellow players in an updated version of the classic 1986 adventure Night’s Dark Terror, updated for the 5E 2024 ruleset.
Well, with that hard sell out of the way, hello there weary traveler!
I’m running Night’s Dark Terror, if you haven’t noticed by now. I know. It’s been a huge secret. This adventure was originally published in 1986 for Dungeons and Dragons Expert Play. I enjoy the adventure arc and took some care to update it to the 2024 5E Ruleset and move the campaign from Mystara to The Forgotten Realms.
This adventure will take your group roaming through the Northern Dessarin Frontier, through hill and valley, and even up into the Evermoors if we’re lucky and want to face some trolls! So, if you’re looking for a classic feeling Dungeons and Dragons adventure, may I interest you in Night’s Dark Terror?
