Hey everyone. I am looking to join a dnd campaign as a beginner. I have never played before but I am really interested and think it would be a ton of fun to learn the mechanics and the roleplay. I am free sundays-Wednesday's and Saturday nights. Also, any tips on how to get started would be greatly appreciated.
Hello Runner. You sound like the kind of player that I am looking for.
I am GM Chris, and I have been playing DnD for 23 (active) years, and have been GM/DM for most of that. I am hosting one brand new campaign on Roll20/Discord (a 'Bootcamp', mostly for brand new and returning players). I specialize in Low Level and teaching new players. Some of my best work has been Level 1-5. I am running this campaign specifically for folks like you. I teach a 'Masterclass' on mechanics, roleplay, and lots of other lessons. My goal is to arm and equip new players with the knowledge, experience and confidence to eventually join bigger, bolder, more complex campaigns, and succeed and have a ton of fun doing it.
I would love to start up a conversation with you, to see if my upcoming New-and-Returning-Player campaign would be a good fit for you? It starts in a week. In the essence of courtesy and full-transparency, I am heavily invested in books and resources (all of which are shared with you digitally), as well as Roll20 Pro and DNDBeyond Pro subscriptions, so I do kindly ask for a small 'donation' to play at my table, just to help offset the costs of all the materials (I am NOT doing this for 'income', but just to offset the cost of all the subscription services that I need, in order to provide the quality of gameplay that I want to deliver). I have invested a lot of time into creating this learning campaign, complete with custom material specifically suited to teaching new players, and providing all the 'flavors' of DnD through hands-on lessons and roleplay.
If you'd like to start up a conversation and see if this might be a good fit for you, you are welcome to message me on Discord: demanacus1486 I hope to hear from you soon. =) -GM Chris
Hello, my name is Leland and I am recruiting for a Tuesday night game at 830pm EST. I am many years in the hobby and have a lot of experience teaching it to others. If you would like more information message me at lelandpalmer on Discord.
You’d fit right in with The Nexus, an 18+ LGBTQAI+ friendly community with a Westmarch-style setup, where each DM runs their own world. We welcome beginners with open arms, and our community is supportive and newbie-friendly, so it’s a perfect place to learn both the mechanics and the roleplay side of D&D.
We run daily online sessions, so your availability from Sundays–Wednesdays and Saturday nights works great. Games use D&D 5e (2014 ruleset) with D&D Beyond campaign links, and you can also explore Play by Post/TRP options if you’d like to learn at your own pace.
For getting started: don’t worry about knowing everything — just pick a character that seems fun, ask questions, and let the DM and group guide you. D&D is all about collaborative storytelling and having fun, so your curiosity will be a huge asset.
