Game: D&D 5e (2014 is Preferred) Group preferred: Online (Don't have video ability, would love a VTT but not necessary) Experience: Playing since 2016, DMing since 2021-ish Location/Timezone: Mountain Standard Time Availability: Any day other than Mondays or Every other Saturday/Sunday. (Best times are after 4pm MST but open to earlier) Preferred role: Player Game style: I'm looking for something that focuses on story and character journeys! Ive been DMing games consistently for the past 4/5-ish years and would like a game where I can just dive into the character and explore the world around them in detail. I love lore, political intrigue, unraveling plot, feeling like a part of it all, but most of all; I love when things feel smooth and like the characters and story are in alignment. Before DMing, I had always been told that because games couldn't live up to actual play games (Like Critical Role or Dimension 20), that I should just be happy with more beer and pretzels or murder-hobo style games because that's what real D&D looks like. Then I started DMing and creating the kind of games I would want to play and now that I know they can exist, I am looking to find my first legendary epic as a player! Although I have played for a while, I'm new to playing D&D in this story forward way. I may slip up at times and need to be taught how to sit in the player seat again but I promise to give it my most genuine effort! I love playing almost any role in a party but I have been playing around with a sort of Ancient Grecian myth style Oracle character.
We sound like we’re looking for the same thing! I’m very new to the world of playing but have been a CR fan since 2018-ish. I’ve tried to play but each campaign ran into scheduling issues and died.
Would love to connect and try to tag team finding a group to play.
I'm curious about joining in on this as the DM. I'm in EST and have a number of fantasy worlds/stories that I could use. I largely focus on characters and narrative and am happy to help guide newbies in my homebrew worlds. I've led a 5 year campaign successfully in-person and have toyed with online sessions. I currently am a player in another campaign (first time as a player in 16 years) but I think behind the DM screen is where I belong. I make custom maps in Dungeondraft and use Foundry VTT for the sessions and strive for things like ambient music, sound effects, and heavily encourage role-playing. I also create a list of general table rules with the table so that we all play fairly and have fun. I am diplomatic and polite but firm on ensuring EVERYONE is having a fun time at the table.
For personal information: I am from the midwest, 33, former historian and teacher turned construction worker. I ride a lot of bicycles and have a keen sense of how things are built and work. I have a knack for world-building and am a hell of an improvisor for story telling so getting to tell these personal stories through your characters and with your help is a main reason I play D&D. I generally try to balance sessions to be focused on RP with at least one rolling-dice-and-praying section (combat, puzzles, negotiations out of a sticky situation, etc). I am on discord (rivardicus) if we want to meet up, chat, and see if we will gel!
Hello, my name is Leland and I am recruiting for a Tuesday night game at 830pm EST. The Campaign is called Dungeons of Drakkenheim, it is a third party published adventure that was originally the live play in the Dungeon Dudes YouTube channel. It is tightly focused on the individual stories of the party members and their personal quests in the city of Drakkenheim. I am a DM w/ 25+ years experience in the hobby. If you would like more information message me at lelandpalmer on Discord.
I'm looking for something similar to you! I saw a comment up above about tag teaming off this to find something together and the post from Rivardicus.
I've been a forever Dm for my home group for the past few years and have been interested in DnD for much longer. I normally don't find the courage to speak up and try and organize something outside of those I already know so this is a big step for me. I enjoy all sorts of genres, mostly leaning towards fantasy-forward games with emotional depth and a little bit of humor and hijinks to keep it light hearted! I personally love to get into world lore and create characters that fit the needs of the party. I enjoy connecting with other characters and figuring things out together as a team. I'm looking for a committed, kind and good-hearted group to really dedicate my time to, share lots of laughs and a little tears with! Most of what I know about character interaction between the party or even with NPCs, puzzles and the world is contributed to Critical Role and Dimension 20.
If you want to talk and such, my discord is mercury02443 if you all want to get something together. I'm EST but I'm free most nights aside from Sundays and Mondays.
I’m also looking for a game like this. I work during the week but my weekends are mostly free (preferably Sunday to avoid possible overtime) I’ve been a dm for a few campaigns but really want more experience as a player. Would love to join if schedules work out.
Discord is same name that I have on here if yall are looking for another player. I’m 25 and work a lot but I have weekends free for the most part. (PST timezone but if schedules work out I’d love to join)
You’d fit beautifully in The Nexus, an 18+ LGBTQAI+ friendly community with a Westmarch-style setup, where each DM runs their own world. It’s ideal for story-focused players who want to dive deep into characters, political intrigue, and world-building, while still enjoying smooth, cohesive gameplay.
We’re a global community with daily sessions, so your availability outside Mondays and every other weekend works well. Games use D&D 5e (2014 ruleset) with D&D Beyond campaign links, and you can create multiple characters from level 3 with a generous 35 Point Buy, giving you flexibility to explore different archetypes or experiment with unique builds.
We also offer Play by Post/TRP options if you want a slower-paced, narrative-heavy experience, and our community is supportive and newbie-friendly, so transitioning back into a player role is easy — plenty of guidance without judgment. Whether your Oracle or another character, there are always stories to weave yourself into.
If this sounds like the kind of legendary epic you’re seeking, check us out here.
