Must be LGBTQIA+ friendly, should just get that out of the way first cause real world bigotry is a vibe killer for me. Fantasy bigotry (like hating Tieflings/Half Elves/Halflings)? Usually fine as long as its not the only roleplay you're capable of and it doesn't make anyone uncomfortable. Playing an unpleasant character can be exciting/interesting sometimes, but being an unpleasant person to the actual people around you is never cool.
Probably looking for an online game. All my experience is with Roll20, but I could learn any VTT if needed. I've looked into Foundry and the Beyond VTT. They're not too complicated in my experience.
Can not afford to pay to play D&D. Sorry. I respect your hustle, but I'm broke. Lol
I'm 27 and would like to play with other adults. Been playing sinxe high-school so roughly a decade of experience, but most of my experience (both running and playing) is with homebrew worlds. The only other modules I've played/run are Lost Mines and Tomb of Annihilation. I kinda miss the nice structure a module can bring, but I like very specific vibes from modules. I've done everything in my power not to spoil Curse of Strahd cause at a glance it seems like this cool Castlevania type scenario where the party just ends up in a nightmare land of vampires for whatever reason and I want the experience of Boravia to be as intense, exciting, and genuinely surprising as that first journey across Chult was.
I would like to be there for Session 1 (or Session 0 if you do those. Love beginning to collaborate before the game even gets going. Its a great way to make sure the party actually vibes and we'll all get what we want out of the experience.) and I would like to play with people who are into roleplaying enough that nobody is gonna complain that "We're never gonna reach the end at this rate/etc.", but also not so into the roleplay that we go months or years without making any real progress on the primary goal of the adventure. I'm all for fun side adventures, but not if they overshadow the intended experience of the module.
I would prefer to join a game utilizing the 2014 ruleset (I just think the Background Features are more interesting than the Origin Feats, and Tasha's Cauldron fixes any issues I had with racial stats not working for builds I like), but my favorite class is Monk and it got way better in 2024 so I'm absolutely fine going that way too. I just have less experience with the 2024 rules so I might make silly errors as I adjust to the changes.
I'm on CST US, but as long as we all speak the same language I'm open to playing with anyone who is sitting down to play at around 6-8pm CST. I'm open to playing until 12am CST (I work early in the morning sometimes, so staying up beyond that would require I NOT have work the next day.)
