I'm looking for a group to play with, and (I'll be honest) it's been a bit of a struggle. I've posted several times, joined a handful of Discords, and hear "Sorry, the last seat wqs just filled" more than once. It's frustrating, but I'm not giving up! There's a group out there that is for me, and I intend to find it!
Why you want me at your table:
Story First Player. As soon as I learned to read I started writing stories. For me, DnD is about shared storytelling, weaving something memorable together as a group.
Collaborative, Not Competitive. I'm here to build with people, not play against them. No toxic ego, no rules nazi, just genuine love for creativity.
Improv Friendly. "Yes, and..." is the golden rule. Whether it's chasing a rumor or riffing off of a weird NPC moment, I'm here to keep the story alive and moving forward.
Reliable Adult. I'm 43, a single father of three, and I take commitments seriously. If I say I'll be there, then I will, and on time, ready, and respectful of everyone's schedule.
There is much more I could say, but the short version is this: I'm a storyteller who plays for the narrative, not the numbers. If you've got an open seat and want someone who will invest in your world and the people around the table, I would love to talk.
Hello, my name is Leland and looking for one more player for my Call from the Deep game on Sundays 8PM EST. It is an adventure that revolves around the group crewing their own vessel and combating a conspiracy involving pirate crew alliances, underwater menaces and eldritch horrors. In addition I have a heavy commitment to the backstories of my players and weave them into the greater narrative so that the main plot revolves around the character as well as the choices you make. DM with 25 years of experience. If potentially interested message me at lelandpalmer on discord
Hey Stephen, We read your post and couldn’t help but smile. Everything you described is exactly the kind of energy we love at a table. Our campaign focuses heavily on story, tone, and worldbuilding, with players who enjoy building something meaningful together rather than chasing numbers. Though, with AD&D, chasing numbers is also fun!
We’re currently running an AD&D 1st Edition campaign on Sundays, starting around 6 PM Central (7 PM Eastern) and running for about five hours. It’s high magic, exploration heavy, and written with a lot of attention to character depth and shared storytelling. The group uses Discord for voice, Foundry for maps, and Google Sheets for characters.
If that sort of setup sounds like a good fit, we’d be happy to talk and see if the time works for you. Either way, it’s great seeing another storyteller out here still searching for their table. That kind of commitment to the craft always stands out.
