Fallen rulers, experiments gone awry, rising prodigies, no heroes left…
Far off from the Sword Coasts of Faerun lies the island of Pandora, an isolated collection of regions known to only few who don't reside there. Until 2 years ago, usually only accessible through arduous ocean travel or transportation magics, it is a diverse country abundant with magical resources. After the calamity resulting from the failed ambitions of the former High Lord of Pandora, the country has been sealed off from any connection to the mainlands. Chaos reigns across territories, dormant villains emerge, the land’s heroes disappear. With Pandora’s newly elected High Lord secluding himself to the chaos, the lands have no one left to turn. In desperation, the gambit of a duke produces a summoning ritual to bring together a ragtag group of great adventurers from planes far and wide to control the entropy and bring peace to… wait… who are THESE guys? These are heroes?
Calling fledgling newcomers and experienced enjoyers alike for a quirky high fantasy (And energy) long term homebrewed campaign in the Forgotten Realms setting with some included elements of clockwork technology! Expect roleplay heavy moments, fearsome fights, and comradery (Maybe...)!
Character Creation Guidelines!!!
Starting level: 4
Milestone based leveling
Fixed HP
2024 Classes, Subclasses, Spells, Backgrounds, Races/Species, etc. (If you have resources from other sourcebooks you would like to use, or would like to use a homebrewed background or race, DM me first for approval when making your character)
Single class only/No multiclassing
Character backstories may be weaved into the main story or side quests if possible, so if you wish, try to make them interesting.
Standard Array Ability Score Generation
Base starting equipment from class and/or background, and…
A special treat: A custom item of your creation! These should be relevant to your character’s personality/backstory/flavor. The item can be a weapon, trinket, or any other object central to your character, but should be on the level of a rare item or less as they will improve as you advance in the main story or your character's personal story. When you have an idea for it after making your character, you MUST DM the idea to me first for approval and possible balancing so I can add the item for your character.
Looking for 4-5 intrepid (18+ preferred but not required) individuals with nothing better to do during one day of the week (Yes, i'm looking at you sitting there with your dry ass lips! And don't try licking them now, it's too late!) So what are you waiting for? Join the shiny new Discord server below to help schedule and arrange our very first session 0!
Do you use the backwards compatibility rules listed in the 2024 5e PHB for race/species and backgrounds in 2014 5e content that haven't been updated yet?
Also what day and time will this campaign be happening?
I am Pacific and more than likely will be either Fridays or a weekend day. But I wish to get input from everyone individually first before making final decisions.
And if an aspect from a book has that is pre 2024 that hasn't been remastered yet (Like a subclass for example) you can use it if it is backwards compatible.
I'm interested, but it depends on the day/time as I usually work long variable hours. Will be easier to see what works for everyone else and then I can give a yes/no on whether I can make it work.
I currently play in two other campaigns that have been ongoing for 4+ years and DM my own one shots once a month. All my games use latest rules and we're always playtesting Unearthed Arcana to stay on top of the most recent changes.
I'm brand new to D&D. I played very loosely as a kid in the 80's but definitely didn't follow the rules. So curious if you were thinking of later Friday evenings? I don't get home until usually 5 PM Saskatchewan time. So I bit off from Pacific. Plus long game? As in a few months, years? I'm good for playing in late fall until spring, but have a farm to maintain in late spring and summer.

Sorry to be long winded.

Hello 👋! Would you have room for a new player still??
Heya. This seems interesting to me, but I'm not knowledgable in the 2024 ruleset. If ya don't mind me being a bit slow at the start, I'd like to join.
