Have you an impulse to adventure? How about a knack for saving all of humankind as you know it? Well, look no further, my friends, because this is the place to be! Introducing two DM’s looking to start a group with five decently-experienced players. We’re looking for players that are willing to go in-depth into their character’s backstories and that enjoy roleplaying and character development. Co-DMing is something that we are aware is new to most people (including ourselves), so the first few sessions will be focused around getting our dynamic set.
Our campaign is entirely homebrew, we’ve spent weeks building it from the ground-up, including the world, lore, and all of the maps. Standard Wizards of the Coast classes/races/backgrounds will be used, and we are open to some homebrew stuff as well, pending our review and approval.
I am new to DMing, this being my first campaign that I’m running. My co-DM has done it before, but very sparingly. We’re looking for adaptable and patient players. We promise it will be worth your time!
Whether you already have a character in mind or you want to create one when we get together is up to you, but we will tell you the basic lore of the campaign upon acceptance into the group, so as to give you a better grasp of what your character has been through in the past few centuries.
We are looking to play on Monday nights from 5pm-10pm CST, voice chat on Discord and playing on Roll20.
Please message me personally or post below with:
1. Your experience playing D&D 2. Your favored class 3. I enjoy when my DM… 4. I dislike when my DM… 5. Anything else you find important to mention
By no means are we looking for an essay, we just want to get an idea of what to do and what not to do so as to make this campaign as much fun for you as it will be for us! We are expecting this to go from level 1-20, so the sooner we work well together, the better.
That’s all for now, but we look forward to meeting our five future adventurers! So long, and happy adventuring.
1. Your experience playing D&D: Been playing a few months now and doing a lot of research about the game 2. Your favored class: That is hard to say, I don't really have a favorite class at the moment I like them all and think there fun in there own way. 3. I enjoy when my DM… : I have always enjoyed when the DM was layed back and just as into the story there telling as the players are. 4. I dislike when my DM… : Having a DM force you into playing a current way or making choices for the players. 5. Anything else you find important to mention : Im just wanting a layed back chill game and I hope we can achieve that and have fun.
I'm interested in joining and Mondays work for me though it will vary due to my work schedule. My experience with playing D&D is I've played a few sessions of 4e and a few weeks of playing 5e. my favored class is wizard but I would like to try something different. I enjoy it when my dm provides story elements that will draw me in to being a better player and roleplayer. I dislike it when the dm decides to cancel the campaign before finishing up the beginning story arc. I tend to be quiet most of the time and I am working on that. I do have a concept for a character the uses a home brew race called "bearkin"
1. Your experience playing D&D - Have dabbled in a few one-shots and am a relatively new player 2. Your favored class - I would love to experiment with the Monk or play a half-elf ranger. 3. I enjoy when my DM… - has fun and encourages RP 4. I dislike when my DM… - doesn't encourage growth within the group dynamic during down-time events 5. Anything else you find important to mention - just love the game and am in the CST zone, would love the opportunity to join your quest! Roll high travelers!
1. I am a new player to D&D but I know the basics.
2. I would really like to play as a tiefling (or lizard folk) rogue
3.I dont have much experience besides from watching people play but I love it when my DMs can make me feel like player choice, creativity and background matters
4. I dislike it when DMs dont even try to make their story come to life (that goes for players as well) I believe that you should be proud of your campaign and should do it the justice it deserves
5. Since I am new please keep in mind I will make mistakes but i am a great roleplayer and I'm willing to learn the technicalities
Played for a few years, but that was 15 years ago or so, but never really lost interest. Getting back into it and even just started DM’ing for my kids and soon, their friends once I figure it out. (First time DM) New to this site, as well. I only stumbled across it looking for character builders. I don’t really have a favored class, since I have played several. As long as the DM and group are fun, I’m game.
1. My experience playing D&D is one year and half of mounth, but do not expect perfect game. 2. Your favored class... I've had a lot of different characters. But most favorite was and is paladin (of Conquest). But, as I new in this project and really want to bring few more Ideas to life - I'll probably try another character, which I have plenty.
3. I enjoy when my DM gives aims, that demands lot of planning... And when players have the time for it. Also I love in-group roleplay. 4. I dislike when my DM does not respect the element of roleplay, does sudden and nonlogical and also harmful things. (For example: When one of the teammates, whose player left the campaign, stole all the group's legendary magic items without purpose and teleported away. + that was out of this character...) 5. Anything else you find important to mention: I'm a student... So, soon there would not be so much time for games. Also GTM +5, that probably will make playing online more difficult.
+ I'm not so good at English, as i wanted to be and it'd be quite hard to play with that... But still want to try.
Hi that sounds really fun and interesting! Also, the time slot is perfect for me.
I do love going in depth and creating a character that has an interesting backstory. I have been playing 5e very regularly for about 4 years now as well as doing some DMing (though I prefer focusing on one character at a time so pc is the role for me). I have done some adventure league-esque group stuff and some focused group campaigns and I greatly prefer a solid dedicated team in a campaign. I have been playing on r20 and discord so I am very familiar with their systems. I currently am only playing one game a week and that is not enough for me.... gotta scratch that itch.
My favored class tends to be paladin now since 5e is a little looser with lakes in behavior. Overall I really like being a martial mage. I prefer classes that get good use out of charisma. So far I've liked all of the charisma based classes. I really want to try a pugilist unarmored paladin but the mechanics don't support it very well, or require a very MAD build . Would love to do some homebrew but I'm also cool with just standard content. I might want to play as a bard or sorcerer (especially stone) as well.
I enjoy when my dm cares about the world they built and can create an immersive Scene I can picture in my head. I like villains that are more interesting than I am powerful fear me and obey! I really like when the dm gives the PCs a chance to settle and rp instead of constant pressure and fighting... though after a certain point in a campaign that can also be a good thing. Also the rule of cool is awesome as long as it feels genuinely in character.
I dislike when my dm is not ok being wrong. Look, we all mess up the rules sometimes and the dm of course has final say, but making a mistake (and refusing to fix it or be gently corrected) or changing a rule without player consent (or especially knowledge) is an unattractive quality in a dm. Also a flaky dm and one that clearly favors a specific player is annoying....
there are lots of things that are no fun and I won't list them all. I just want to have a good time with like minded people and save some dragons from some damsels.
Sorry if that was tl;dr. Hope we can play together!
P.S. tieflings are my favored race. My discord is Bruno Valletori #8140
Hello.I dabbled in D&D for a bit when I was in middle school (I graduated high school several years ago) and some friends and I have started getting into it in the past few months and have been tremendously enjoying it. Due to our conflicting schedules, it is hard to meet up IRL every week, so we're supplementing by playing on the web when we're able to.
My favorite class would have to be a rogue for certain.
I enjoy when my DM allows for spontaneous creativity.
I dislike when my DM doesn't allow for spontaneous creativity.
Nothing much else I can think of. Even though I'm somewhat of a rookie still at DnD, I have been playing video game RPG's for many many years. I look forward to your campaign.
I just made an account on here to make a post on this because I am looking for a d&d group to join. I've only played with a group of friends over Roll20, and my knowledge is limited but I'm trying to take a step outside of my comfort zone in hopes of getting into more games.
1. Your experience playing D&D
I'm no expert, but I have a good grasp of the basics from playing in a campaign for almost 8 months. My group consists of friends who play 5e on Roll20 and Discord, so I'm used to these platforms. 2. Your favored class
I love Charisma based classes like Sorcerers and Bards. Bard is definitely my favorite though.
3. I enjoy when my DM accepts unorthodox solutions to a situation, and cares for their players as well as their overall experience.
4. I dislike when my DM forces players to play in a certain way, disregarding the interests of the group.
5. Anything else you find important to mention
My timezone is EDT, but my schedule is usually free and I'm used to interacting with people in other timezones.
1. I have a lot of experience with 2nd edition game dynamics and have now played three - four games games of 5e I enjoy the role playing aspect.
2.my favoured class is either Rogue, or Warlock but I enjoy playing any class (I have made a shifter rogue with a solid paragraph if backstory and a centaur fighter with little backstory prepared )
3.I enjoy it when a DM is as much a story teller as he is a facilitater and a creator/artist.
4. I don't enjoy it when a DM allows players to start playing multiple characters, it gets confusing and loses the focus of the story telling part of RPG/D&D
5. I am quite used to the game dynamics of D&D in person though have not played online before, I really hope we can learn together!
1. Your experience playing D&D: Currently doing a campaign online, and have done one shots before. 2. Your favored class: Spell casters, rogue, monks, and supports like bards 3. I enjoy when my DM… Is creative and very descriptive about what our characters see. 4. I dislike when my DM… Doesn't let us role for anything (I actually had that happen in a game. He wouldn't let us do anything with our characters) 5. Anything else you find important to mention: I'm a quick learner and I love working with the dm to make a character that fits in with the campaign.
The name is Oisin and I am just getting into D&D as a player now that I have an open schedule. I am in eastern time but am used to adjusting to central time. The scheduling for this group in particular would be perfect.
1. I have watched many campaigns, but other than that am very new to actually playing.
2. I am still learning the ins and outs of the classes in detail, but have enjoyed watching games with druids and feel that I would enjoy playing one.
3. I enjoy when the DM has fun with the game by letting the campaign not be strictly serious all the time.
4. I dislike when a DM outright says "no" to a players request or action without good reason.
5. Despite being very new to playing D&D I am very eager to learn and just right in.
1. Your experience playing D&D I have been playing D&D and other rpg's for 30 years or so. 2. Your favored class I am open to any class but my preferred for 5e is the bard 3. I enjoy when my DM… I love when the DM works in parts of the player backstories to make the game more personal for each player 4. I dislike when my DM… I hate when the DM ignores original solutions to problems like making EVERY NPC automatically suspect an illusion and make the check 5. Anything else you find important to mention I enjoy all levels of play from just a basic murder hobo style up to almost no combat and all rp though i DO lean more towards the latter end.
1. 2 years Pathfinder, 1 year DND 5e 2. Rogue, Fighter, Cleric, Wizard. Tend to play Neutral Good to True Neutral on the alignment. 3. Encourages Roleplay, creative solutions. 4. Shows favoritism, gets tyrannical, isn't open to discussion.
5. Hi, I guess my biggest pet peeve is dealing with ego centrism. This is a team game where everyone comes together to create something unique and special. Cooperation is a critical element in all relationships at the table, and even if personalities aren't the compatible there is still an element of respect and patience that needs to be facilitated. Everyone's the hero of this story, so to speak. Part of what got me into DND was watching shows like Dice, Camera, Action or Critical Role, and I'd like a bit of that camaraderie as we all develop our characters into who they can be, what they can be.
1. Your experience playing D&D: Very few one-shots of 3.5 with my brother. Never played 5e but I understand most of it. 2. Your favored class: I ran a halfling sorcerer who loved cooking chili, other than that haven't played anything else but am open to playing anything. 3. I enjoy when my DM…: Is okay with a lot of questions. 4. I dislike when my DM…: frowns upon roleplaying. 5. Anything else you find important to mention: I am very happy I found this post since the only days I can play are Mondays and Tuesdays. I am a very committed type of person and have been trying to find a group for months!
1. Your experience playing D&D- approx 19 months as both player and dm 2. Your favored class- love being a druid 3. I enjoy when my DM…has fun with making interesting npc's and locations, whether they be wacky or serious. 4. I dislike when my DM…forces a role on a player or insta-kills a player they don't necessarily care for. 5. Anything else you find important to mention...because of my ridiculous work schedule, every week would be hard for me, but I'd try to make it work. I'd love to build a firbolg PC but I don't have to stats on DDB. I do love a good homebrew game though
